What you do:

 

Top level technical expert in one or more highly specialized areas of hardware and software solutions. Acts independently under minimal management direction. Provides technical consulting on projects with high visibility and potential business impact. Identifies trends and works with various vendors and other support teams to implement appropriate solutions. Provides reporting as required. May act as project manager for larger initiatives in the end user computing capability. Must be well versed in current technologies and drive the go forward strategies and roadmaps related to end user computing.

 

A successful candidate will have background in:

 

  • Analyze, install, develop, modify and maintain operating system software, database related software, packaged application software, and operations control software.
  • Resolve technical, operational and equipment problems of all severity levels and coordinate the use of external resources to resolve the most complex problems.
  • Serve as a resource for solving complex user and application problems and provide technical assistance and information to other Technical Services Personnel.
  • Prepare documentation for use by operations staff, application teams and business users and train them to use systems software and related hardware facilities.
  • Evaluate available hardware and software and make recommendations on products for end users as well as on system configurations.
  • Evaluate the performance of installed software by utilizing available aids to monitor trends, loads, and growth patterns. Perform tests and routine preventative maintenance.
  • Ability to lead and manage projects in the end user computing capability. Ability to drive results.

 

What you bring:

 

6-7 years of experience required:

 

  • Experience working with Windows XP/7 desktops/laptops and mobile technology; Working knowledge of Windows XP/7 Workstation Operating Systems and SCCM Software Distribution / Config Mgr, as well as an understanding of Windows 2000/2008 Network Operating systems.
  • Experience working with Compaq / IBM workstations; Strong problem analysis, troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • Four-year degree required: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science / Info Systems / Business Admin, or specialized training / equivalent work experience.
