What you do:

Provide a holistic view of operational risks, connections and impacts across all of AIM. Develop, implement and execute an Operational Risk Management framework, standards and procedures organization wide for AIM. Under limited supervision, works with management, business partners and key stakeholders to identify, translate and provide consultation on business opportunities that result in an improved control environment across the enterprise. Leads large-scale initiatives focused on mitigating risk by recommending improvements to processes/procedures and increasing general knowledge of controls within the organization. Assesses risks, identifies and evaluates controls to ensure legal, regulatory and group requirements are upheld and risks are controlled.

 

  • Standardized risk response methodology including root cause analysis, standard response time and messaging to key stakeholders and tracking of risk findings, action planning and remediation efforts
  • Guide and mentor AIM colleagues in identifying and evaluating risks and controls within business processes
  • Develop KPIs/KRIs, benchmarking, monitoring mechanisms and risk education topics to evaluate and enhance the organizational health of AIM as it evolves
  • Collaborate with management on the development of action plans to ensure risks are mitigated appropriately, including performing issue follow-up and escalation as appropriate. This includes project management of AIM audits
  • Lead the Business Continuity Management (BCM) efforts for AIM
  • Prepares reporting for senior management, boards, group and other key stakeholders
  • Draft test programs to effectively test the design and operational effectiveness of the system of internal controls

 

What you bring:

  • 4-5 years’ experience required - Financial services industry experience. 
  • Project management experience (large sized and/or complex).
  • Functional experience in the area of operations and/or IT.
  • Knowledge in the Investment Management industry and their processes.
  • 6-7 years’ experience preferred - 5+ years’ experience in investment management firm

Preferred:

  • Four-year degree preferred
  • OPEX experience and leading an OPEX team
  • Internal controls certification (ex. COSO)
  • Detailed process optimization knowledge / experience
  • Audit Knowledge / experience
