What you do:

You will oversee and administer the Derivatives Risk Management Program (DRMP) already instituted for the registered investment companies managed by AIM LLC, the adviser to the funds, with regular reporting to the Fund Board. As an officer of the adviser and appointed Derivatives Risk Manager by the Fund Board, you will follow all requirements of SEC Rule 18f-4. You will also oversee and administer the adviser's Limited Derivatives User Plan, participate in the adviser's Fair Valuation Committee, and assist with projects under the Advisory Solutions team, including the development of tools and programs to assist with control environment and development of efficiencies.

  • Oversee and administer the Derivatives Risk Management Program, including:

o Identification and assessment of the fund's derivatives risk

o Monitoring and enforcement of risk guidelines

o Stress testing of the fund's portfolio to evaluate potential losses under stressed conditions

o Daily calculation and reporting of fund's VaR

o Backtesting of VaR calculation models that the funds use under the rule

o Provide ongoing review of the program's effectiveness, with reporting to the Fund Board, and make changes as necessary

  • Together with Derivatives Risk Management Program, oversee and administer AIM LLC's Limited Derivatives User Plan and provide internal reporting
  • Develop tools and programs for other teams within Advisory Solutions to ensure strong control environment and increase efficiencies
  • Participate in AIM LLC's Fair Valuation Committee, as needed
  • Participate in other projects, as needed

What you bring:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Four-year degree in quantitative finance, mathematics, financial engineering or related technical field
  • 7+ years relevant derivatives experience, with strong preference to:

o Fundamental understanding of derivative notional

o Options and Future Valuation (including Greeks)

o Valuation of Swaps (TRS, IRS, CDS, Inflation Swaps)

o Management of OTC contracts (ISDAs, Alternative Master Agreements, Liquidity and Counterparty Implications)

o Fixed Income derivatives (Bond Futures, TBAs)

o Foreign Exchange Instruments (FX Forwards, FX Swaps)

  • Relevant experience managing financial and non-financial risks
  • Ability to read and summarize regulatory documents and proposals
  • Ability to write and maintain policies and procedures related to risk and fund management
  • Knowledge of portfolio management fundamentals
  • Ability to communicate complex topics, verbal and written, in such a way that they can be understood by people with different backgrounds, including non-technical backgrounds
  • Programming (C# and VBA) and database management experience (SQL Server)
