What you do:
Perform analysis, support research and allocation recommendations for structured products (ABS, CLOs,
CMBS, RMBS) within the AIM Capital Markets team as part of the broader AIM US Investment Management function. Areas of focus include:
• Asset class research for structure products including ABS, CLOs, private label CMBS and agency MBS with particular focus on asset and structural credit considerations, technical trends, and relative value assessment across AZL and P&C general account portfolios
• ABS sub-sector deep dives focused on collateral composition, credit subordination and migration trends, payment waterfalls and capital consumption under RBC and S&P capital models
• Providing regular asset class reports; support the preparation and sharing of investment narratives within AIM and external stakeholders in collaboration with other investment management functions for alignment
• Work with public and private CLO and ABS asset managers on analytics, transaction activity and deal pipelines
• Collaborate with private assets and P&C portfolio managers on investment recommendations within structured products on a frequent basis in connection with new premium inflows and reinvestment of in-force principal and interest run-off
• Support AIM Portfolio Management and Capital Markets expert teams on manager searches and due diligence for expansion of existing ABS mandates and/or development of new mandates as needs arise
• Participate in global AIM fixed income expert calls, highlighting structured product trends and activity for the US general account portfolios
What you bring:
• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant investment experience at bank or insurance company; demonstrated skills in structured products research and analysis
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (story-telling ability with market and portfolio data) to support expansion of structured products allocations
• Relevant investment systems experience for structured products and ABS modeling
• 4yr degree required: Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Economics or related technical field
