Reports to Investment Strategy Portfolio Analytics team lead. An entry level member of the Portfolio Analytics team responsible for reporting and deliverables that support the Allianz US general account investment team. Primary responsibilities include updating, maintaining and improving existing analytical tools and processes across both investment assets and product liabilities. Position requires strong analytical skills and advanced proficiency in Excel and SQL. Creative problem-solver who can replicate processes, but also suggest efficiencies for quality and production improvements. Must show process improvement skills in their daily work, be able to execute independently as well as across a team environment.

 

  • Prepares reporting and analytics to explain investment income compared to plan
  • Present on annual planning results to key executives
  • Update, maintain and improve existing analytical tools and processes
  • Produce weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual investment income and asset analytics to support the
  • understanding of investment income drivers
  • Manages relationships with internal customers (e.g. from other departments) and external stakeholders (e.g. auditors, group controllership, rating agencies, etc.)
  • Conducts analysis and investigates solutions as necessary to aid in improving the analytics of the company and
  • overall risk management
  • Participate in projects that support AIM (data and reporting improvements)

 

What you bring:

  • Experience using Excel, Power Point, VBA, SQL and/or other programming languages
  • Strong analytics skillset, the ability to research and understand data anomalies, ability to translate data results into words
  • Knowledge or interest in investments required, finance, actuarial science or accounting knowledge helpful
  • Four-year degree preferred
  • In pursuit of CFA or actuarial exams helpful
