JOB PURPOSE/ROLE

 

The Change Management & Monitoring area, in the IT Operations, contributes to the achievement of the goals of the IT Dept by ensuring the availability and stability of the IT Systems and Services focusing on operations of critical DB2 LUW and IBM Content Manager components.
The DB2 LUW & IBM Content Manager IT Engineer works as Key Contact point supporting senior colleagues in releasing new features (coordinating with application teams and with Global Infrastructure colleagues locally and from European OEs) and in the cloudification (2023-2024) on AWS of the current Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure currently deployed in the Allianz Primary Data Center and DR site. Activities requiring coordination with all mentioned teams and additionally with local Italian third parties supporting us.

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


•    Collaborating with Development, Operations, and other technical teams on new and existing DB2 LUW project implementations
•    Maintaining DB2 system options and SQL for optimum performance and availability
•    Monitoring the DB2 Workload
•    Managing the Db2 system underlying critical IBM Content Manager infrastructure
•    Manage IBM Content Manager Configuration and troubleshooting in case of incidents
•    Analyze DB2 queries in order to suggest optimizations to application teams
•    Assisting with the development and maintenance of DB2 standards and roadmaps
•    Providing on-call support in case of production incidents
•    Ensuring DB2 optimal configuration for high availability and business continuity.
•    Creating and supporting databases for both internal infrastructure applications and end-user applications.
•    Maintaining databases, including all production and development systems
•    Administering database security across all database environments as appropriate
•    Supporting Release Management during deployment of new application SW releases
•    Defines and maintains procedures and monitoring tools for detection, investigation of issues                              
•    Collaborates with Incident Management Team raising incidents in case of failures
•    Collaborates with Infrastructure and Application teams during troubleshooting of complex issues involving multiple teams 
•    Customer Oriented approach able to manage different topics and to grow (supported by senior colleagues and following vendor training) in areas where his/her skills are not yet mature enough

 

 KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE


•    University Degree preferably in STEM areas
•    3 or more years experience managing Linux systems (RHEL) with Java (JBoss, Tomcat) application servers and woking as DB2 LUW DBA
•    Previous experience working with IBM Content Manager or ability to learn quickly given Java and Java application server configuration skills
•    Knowledge of IT processes based on ITIL Framework
•    Basic knowledge about most used technologies (Server, DB, Load Balancer, …)
•    Basic knowledge about standard Server operating systems (Windows, Linux, AIX)
•    Basic Knowledge of network protocols in particular TCP/IP and HTTP/HTTPS
•    Basic Knowledge of VMWare and Cloud Technologies (AWS required, Azure/Google optional, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible or Terraform) 
•    Good analytical skills and inductive reasoning (scientific observe/generalize/make hypothesis/test) and deductive reasoning
•    A plus will be knowledge of Dynatrace, Splunk, Nagios (we will leverage existing monitoring infrastructure based on these tools during day to day work and will extend these tools to the cloud)
•    A plus will be knowledge of devops/declarative configuration languages for cloud services configuration
•    Nice to have knowledge of ServiceNow (used to tickets/request/incident management)
•    Ability to work in a cross cultural and cross functional environment (Italians, Germans, East Europeans, Indian colleagues in calls …)
•    Teamwork & Proactivity combined with Organizational skills
•    Fluent in Italian and English
•    Agile methodology is a plus
•    Able to work under pressure collaborating with senior colleagues and other teams
•    Able to grow/upskill in technical areas not yet fully “mastered” covered
