JOB PURPOSE/ROLE

The Compliance function is responsible for developing, publishing and monitoring the implementation of requirements mitigating compliance risks and advising and training operating units of the Allianz Group in the areas of anti-money laundering, corruption, bribery, fraud, antitrust, customer protection, market integrity and economic sanctions. The Compliance Customer Protection Team manages Allianz Group's customer protection (Sales Compliance) programs and provides guidance to Allianz SE and its subsidiaries to facilitate adherence to the respective laws and regulations (e.g., IDD, MiFiD, PRIlPs, TCF regime and others). This includes also coordinating Customer Protection topics with OEs.

 

Key Responsibilities

The Compliance Expert will be responsible for:

 

  • Executing the governance and policy set-up for Customer Protection, Retail Risk
  • Providing advice and guidance to OEs in the areas of Customer Protection and Retail Risk
  • Providing guidance to OE/Regional/Global Line compliance functions to ensure Group-wide compliance with customer protection requirements, to satisfy applicable legal, regulatory and best-practice requirements and emerging conduct standards
  • Reviewing and monitoring inter- and multinational legislative developments and trends in the area of sales compliance, including papers and guidelines published by EIOPA, OECD, UN and other relevant organizations
  • Developing expertise and in-depth subject-matter knowledge in sales compliance
  • Ensuring that all developments are and remain appropriately reflected in the Allianz SE and Group customer protection  program
  • Drafting internal and external communications
  • Developing/maintaining training materials, identifying areas where relevant training is necessary and conducting the trainings
  • Identifying areas for improvement and providing guidance to implement good practices
  • Implementing compliance programs within Allianz SE  in close collaboration with the first line business functions
  • Performing compliance risk assessments, oversee mitigation of compliance issues
  • Performing effectiveness and adequacy testing on controls
  • Providing advice and training to business functions on relevant compliance topics
  • Reporting on the overall status of the compliance management system to relevant stakeholders
  • Exchanging with the Group’s control functions (e.g., Risk Management, Internal Audit) on risks, processes and controls relating to Allianz SE in order to further strengthen the integrated view on related risks across the functions / governance
  • Supporting the exchange with the Group’s regulator BaFin on relevant compliance topics

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • University level degree in Law or Economics or Finance
  • 4+ years of experience in Compliance or Operations or Risk Management
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to spot process improvements and solutions
  • Very strong team spirit, self-motivation and a proactive and collaborative working style, as well as ability to interact in a global work environment with people from different countries and cultures,  excellent communication skills
  • Excellent English language skills (both written and spoken)
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
