Account Manager (12 month contract) – Commercial Division | NSW – Sydney

We’re seeking an Account Manager to join our Commercial Division, based in our Sydney office in a 12 month contract. The Commercial division is Allianz Australia’s largest distribution channel whose customers include local, national and international brokers, and buying groups throughout Australia and New Zealand. You will be asked to develop best in market relationships with allocated brokers and to manage Account Management initiatives and behaviours including the engagement of key internal and external stakeholders to facilitate strategic and tactical objectives.

 

You'll be responsible for:

  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with Brokers for accounts to enable understanding of their present and future needs and proposing products, services and upgrades to maintain and grow revenue. 
  • Develop and fulfil sales plan to achieve financial metrics, retention, target conversions and strike rates against developed and well managed business plans.
  • Record activities, Broker profiles and development plans that enable quality measurement, cycle management, reporting and delivery to service level agreements.
  • Understand customer insights and implement actions to continuously improve the Broker experience.
  • Support the implementation of strategic initiatives to enhance sales capability, ensuring activities are in line with divisional and organisation focus areas and targeted outcomes.
  • Act as a point of escalation for Broker requests, issues or complaints, evaluating available information and facilitating effective resolution.
  • Own responsibility for credit/debt position for assigned panel of Customers/Brokers and work with Credit to address outstanding items.

 

Important to your success:

  • You will be coming from a general insurance background ideally with your primary experience in broking, claims or underwriting of commercial risk.
  • Proven sales ability including effective negotiation skills, the ability to influence and persuade.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm and ability to optimise business value to customers by delivering high quality services and positive customer experiences to sustain and enhance the customer base.
  • Adept at proactively building and maintaining professional relationships and networks to enhance industry positioning, exchange knowledge and elicit beneficial outcomes.
  • Able to plan and prioritise effectively, organise tasks and manage competing resources and demands.
  • Sound technical knowledge of relevant lines of insurance products and associated legislation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating and presenting with clarity, impact and influence.
