Job Purpose/Role
As member of Allianz Direct's product team, you as Product Owner are responsible to specify, deliver, run and further optimize all aspects of your process or service.
You shape the product vision and define new requirements in joint collaboration with the related product teams and the local business areas.
As Product Owner, you define new features and constantly enhance the central platform always considering our joint business goals with a strong focus on customer and business needs.
Whenever a decision is needed, you look at data first and consider a MVP or A/B test approach to validate any assumptions. We develop a central platform for all markets and products at Allianz Direct, hence you are constantly aiming to harmonize requirements and deliver common processes.
You follow a configuration approach, rather than implementing custom local solutions.
Or Product Owners play the key role in connecting business, IT and customer needs to form one common insurance platform across markets and products.
You are an expert in business process optimization or the claims domain and you constantly thrive to develop yourself and others.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand business goals, KPIs and customer needs to create a vision for the product, which you own
  • Define common features, processes and milestones, which delight our customers and operation colleagues alike
  • Create and constantly update your product backlog in alignment with our ambitious milestones
  • Facility agile ceremonies and help your development team to deliver outstanding software products as on joint team
  • Identify dependencies to other product teams and push for fast resolution and delivery especially in cross-team setups
  • Manage continuous delivery in line with your communicated timelines and ensure full transparency across your product team
  • Keep track of your process and customer journey performance and discuss data, assumptions and ideas with your local business peers to further grow and optimize our joint platform
  • Maintain common exchange across our international communities in your area of expertise
  • Understanding the needs of a high performing product development team and supporting each other to keep motivation and delivery at highest level especially during major release periods


Key Requirements/Skills/Experience


  • Professional working experience in digital product management incl. agile development processes
  • Fundamental understanding of user centred product development processes and methodologies
  • Profound knowledge of business processes and/or related customer journeys in the insurance industry
  • Track record of managing and improving high quality, scalable software products
  • Certifications and/or proven proficiency in digital product management, or related fields
  • Broad understanding of IT and the attached possibilities and limitations of a microservice architecture
  • Bachelor`s Degree in digital business, IT, (or similar) or equivalent working experience


Experience & Key Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a can-do attitude
  • Curiosity to constantly learn, highly self-motivated and mindset of continuous improvement of the product you manage
  • End-to-end ownership, also looking beyond own area of responsibility
  • Teamwork, collaboration skills and interested to work in cross-functional teams
  • Written and verbal communication skills in English are required
  • Working experience in agile teams or organizations
  • Ideally experience in insurance or Insurtech
  • More than 3 years related professional experience
