In this context the pricing team within CUO drives the global implementation of costing and pricing excellence in terms of tools and methodology for P&C and L&H reinsurance.

 

Key responsibilities

 

To advance with this approach, Allianz Re is seeking an experienced reinsurance pricing expert to actively shape and reposition the Group's reinsurance pricing capabilities. A particular focus will be on the investigation of new technologies to contribute to the continued development of actuarial methodology. In this role you will define reinsurance pricing excellence and share knowledge with various stakeholders (e.g. in Underwriting and IT) to drive excellence achievement:

  • Lead and take responsibility for the development, implementation, and productive maintenance of reinsurance pricing tools according to business needs and requirements.
  • Drive building the future tool landscape, considering the full end-to-end underwriting process with key areas costing and pricing.
  • Provide training, knowledge transfer and tool & pricing support to Underwriters.
  • Reinsurance pricing excellence development on topics like underwriting data requirements, risk modeling, and underwriting/pricing process implementation. Continuous enhancement of Technical Price standards, methodology and sophistication through insights from internal and external sources. 

 

Qualification

 

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a comparable discipline, qualified actuary would be a plus.
  • Expert knowledge in P&C Reinsurance pricing methodology.
  • Advanced knowledge of a computing language like Python or TypeScript. Knowledge of machine learning methods and solid programming experience.
  • Excellent command of the English language (both written and spoken), other languages would be a plus.

 

Experience & Key skills

 

  • In-depth P&C Reinsurance pricing knowhow gained in 5+ years of pricing activities in a leading (re)insurance company, preferred experience in structuring and costing of large reinsurance transactions.
  • Outstanding conceptional and strategic capabilities, combined with flexibility, creativity and innovation skills. Getting things done in influencing roles, i.e. when no direct reporting line exists.
  • Strong communicator but also good listener and fast in understanding. Clear in articulating concerns, issues, opportunities and expectations.
  • Ability to work in a team, and to train and guide team members.
