Group Data Analytics (GDA) is a department in Allianz’s global headquarters. We are responsible for shaping Allianz’s strategic agenda for Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (AI), and executing Data Analytics and AI solutions at scale, across the entire Allianz Group. Our mission is to add tangible value to our business by driving future business growth and productivity, and enable data-driven transformation and decision-making.  

We do this by developing and deploying globally scalable Data Analytics and AI solutions. We work closely with our colleagues driving the new global business model (Allianz Customer Model), to scale the impact of analytics and AI in Claims, Sales, and Operations. We co-develop reusable assets with OEs across the world and make data fit for purpose. This includes strategic business intelligence projects to create actionable insights and improve data-driven decision making. 

We believe that our long-term success also rests on enabling the business and empowering employees to adopt Data Analytics and AI. We do this by creating transparency on AI capabilities and assets, providing expert knowledge to local data science teams, working towards common architecture and coding principles, and running communities of practice.

We are currently recruiting for Data Scientist to join our team based in Munich, Germany. You will be responsible for conducting data analytics projects with operational units and stakeholders.

 

Your key responsibility would be:

• Conceive and develop end-to-end, data-driven solutions to support Allianz operational entities and initiatives
• Conducting data analytics projects and data-driven initiatives, with the clear target to bring the use-cases go live
• Develop and work on the integration of end-to-end analytics solutions, including data engineering, machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms, or custom algorithm development
• Identify opportunities for innovation through analytics in the business of Allianz. Evaluate potential, scope projects, and define deliverables

 

We expect the qualification:

• M.S. in a relevant technical field such as mathematics, physics, statistics, computer science or engineering
• Strong programming experience in JavaScript and Python is required. Frontend development experience is a strong plus
• Production-level experience using Docker and CI systems, preferrably with one of major cloud providers
• Practical knowledge of data structures, algorithms and distributed system design is a strong plus
• Experience with big data & ML libraries. Knowledge of PyData stack is preferred
• Working experience of modern SPA technologies and stacks (Angular, vue.js)
• Solid DevOps experience is a big plus

 

Your experience and key skills:

• Working experience in Data Analytics projects
• Software development experience is a strong plus
• You have a long history of developing highly productive relationships with your colleagues
• You love learning from others and share your own experience and knowledge
• Experience in manipulating and understanding complex, high-volume data from diverse sources
• Experience in applying modern machine learning and artificial intelligence models (supervised and unsupervised, such as gradient boosting and deep learning) in a business context
• Ability to relate business problems to data-driven solutions using machine learning and artificial intelligence
• Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear and precise manner to audiences from different departments and at different levels
• Creative thinking and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Fluency in English is required, additional languages are a plus
