Job Purpose/Role
Global P&C Pricing team contributes to driving Technical Excellence in P&C Insurance and to improving the Group Underwriting result focusing on data & analytics and pricing analytics. We steer OE's Technical Price System and check the application of Allianz Best Practices. In this way, we drive standardization and harmonization of pricing processes and supporting tools across the group. We collaborate with OEs on project execution on-site, e.g. through Risk Models and Technical Price Reviews, development of monitoring tools and price optimization measures and implementation of tools such as Radar Live. This includes also R&D about data & analytics and tools to leverage every component of the Technical Price System in order to reach a business impact. We design and deliver P&C Academy courses with attendees from all over the world.
We are looking for a Pricing Analyst within the Global P&C Pricing team. The person will support tariff development and portfolio management exploiting statistical and predictive advanced modelling techniques. In addition, the person will support in summarizing, designing and communicating effectively the results to both internal and external stakeholders. This includes also strategy projects as well as reportings of pricing activities to Senior Management. All activities are aimed to develop and implement pricing improvement measures with (in)direct impact on P&C business.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support tariff development and portfolio management exploiting statistical and predictive advanced modelling techniques
  • Perform profitability analysis to guarantee rate adequacy
  • Evaluate the claims’ cost development and perform claim’s inflation analysis
  • Review technical models performed by local entities
  • Model customers' behavior based on market and competitors' analysis
  • Implement and enhance dashboards and business intelligence tools to support risk analysis and portfolio management
  • B41Doing Research and Development to find new technical solutions
  • Summarize, design and communicate effectively the results to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Facilitate internal Pricing Academy as trainer
  • Contribute to Technical Price Certifications
  • Support the pricing strategy process by conducting financial analysis and providing reports for decision-making


Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

  • Master degree in actuarial science or equivalent field
  • Knowledge of standard actuarial topics especially in P&C business
  • Basic knowledge of Solvency II framework
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Basic Knowledge of SAS, R or Python
  • Fluent in English is required, additional languages are a plus
  • Ability and willingness to travel
  • International experience (academic or work-related) as plus
  • Team player


Experience & Key skills

  • Minimum two years of working experience
  • Solid working experience in the areas of Insurance Pricing (completed G-P&C Pricing Academy Accreditations as a plus)
  • A passion for identifying, structuring and solving pricing-related analytical and processual problems and translating these into actionable recommendations
  • Ability to get up to speed on complex strategic and operational topics, to consolidate and evaluate large amounts of information, identify and initiate appropriate actions to remediate issues and follow through on their remediation
  • Good communication and intercultural skills
  • Collaborative mindset, ability to mobilize resources across boundaries and conflicting priorities
