Job purpose/role

We are recruiting an Associate in the Global ALM and Strategic Asset Allocation team in Munich.
The Global ALM and SAA of Allianz Investment Management SE is in charge of defining sustainable asset allocations in collaboration with the Allianz operating entities across the globe.
The job is primarily focused on portfolio optimization considering regulatory and accounting constraints and ESG requirements applied to the Property & Casualty (P/C) investment portfolios of the Allianz Group (EUR 122bn).

 

Key responsibilities

  • Develop Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA) for the global P/C segment based on asset-liability analysis and quantitative optimization techniques in the context of Solvency II, IFRS accounting and considering ESG targets
  • Integrate long-term market view into SAA and evaluate yield enhancement opportunities in collaboration with AIM investment experts and Allianz operating entities
  • Preparation and presentation of proposals to investment committees
  • Further develop existing analytical models and tools to better evaluate investment strategies and asset allocation decisions in P/C portfolios
  • Cooperate and share SAA and investment best practices with Allianz operating entities located in different countries

 

Key requirements/skills/experience

  • Master Degree in Finance, Economics or Quantitative subjects; 
  • Additional qualifications (e.g. CFA or CAIA) beneficial
  • Good IT and programming skills; knowledge of Matlab, Visual Basic, C/C++ or other programming languages is a plus
  • Fluent English written and spoken; knowledge of German and/or another language is a plus
  • 3-5 years of experience in investment function of insurance, banking or asset management company
  • Good knowledge of capital markets, financial modeling and instruments including derivatives
  • Good knowledge of ALM strategies and models
  • Good experience with portfolio management and optimization, accounting and insurance regulation
  • Strong team player, responsible and dependable with entrepreneurial attitude
  • Ability to formulate and solve problems, independent thinking
  • Strong presentation skills
