The Sales Support team provides up-to-date comprehensive data and analyses about sales, (per LoB, per customer, per broker etc) in order to inform key internal stakeholders as they make strategic decisions and prepare offers. The role also provides expert advice and training on our Sales Management systems.


Reporting to the Head of Portfolio Solutions, you will be based in London and work in close collaboration with an offshore team (SSU) to support the Regional Head of Distribution, Key Account Managers, the Broker Relationship team and Heads of our Corporate and Specialty Lines of Business.


In this role you will….

  • Forecast and track year-to-date sales performance; support LOBs in managing sales pipelines and liaise with brokers
  • Participate in requests, project work and initiatives that require the attention of the Regional Head of Distribution, such as Board Reporting, Business Reviews and Local Distribution Strategy documents
  • Supervise and co-ordinate the successful administration of sales-related data handled by the SSU team and deliver on relevant reports
  • Act as principal referral point for planning and sales-related data queries
  • Produce country sales planning (bottom-up vs. top down), including quality checking and consolidation for all local sales figures
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests including research, reports, analytical sheets, performance forecasting and project work
  • Represent Distribution at the Line-Of-Business (LOB) team meetings to cover costings, portfolios and identify improvements
  • Regularly report progress, issues and deviation from agreed plans and actions to the Regional Head of Distribution
  • Proactively and effectively communicate, and develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders
  • Support the Market Management Communications department on facilities, commissions and competitor analysis
  • Be a local power user for the Sales Management tool and proactively contribute to the development and continuous enhancement of sales processes and tools, including Salesforce and Foundry
  • Provide back-up for Broker administration, produce and analyse data on broker remuneration, handle the broker accreditation process, support contact mapping excess commission requests, broker dashboards and steering
  • Deliver and facilitate effective SalesForce training for SSU


To be successful in the role:

You will ….

  • Have a degree in Economics, Business Administration, Law or other appropriate discipline
  • Ideally be progressing towards a professional insurance qualification (e.g. CII)
  • Have excellent computer skills, especially Excel & Access, SalesForce and/or a CRM database, and are able to analyse data
  • Have effective presentation skills and be at ease with PowerPoint
  • Have a sound understanding of the insurance sales life cycle and sales channels
  • Proven track record in a support function managing multiple deadlines across multiple tasks
  • Able to foster long-term internal relationships, at every level of the organisation
  • At ease working in a complex, global matrix organisation, and working regularly with senior stakeholders
  • Work efficiently autonomously and also within a team
  • Motivate others to act, without executive authority
  • Data-driven and innovation-minded, you are able to implement new digital ways of working
