Job Purpose/ Role 


The Global Pricing team is part of the Chief Underwriting Office at AGCS and is responsible for understanding AGCS portfolios and their performance and for ensuring the pricing tools are calibrated to secure AGCS’s future profitability. You will join an international team located across London, Munich, Bucharest, Chicago and New York.

 

AGCS is undergoing a dynamic shift in its data landscape and is looking to expand its Global Pricing team to leverage this data to generate new insights in the portfolio performance and pricing analyses. In this role, you will report to the Head of Pricing Enablement and support him to:

  • drive cross lines of business pricing best practices to support the lines of business pricing actuaries,
  • drive pricing technical excellence cross lines of business
  • and ensure AGCS long term agility in making pricing improvements. 

 

Responsibilities

 

In this role you will…

 

  • Support the delivery of cross lines of business pricing best practices
  • Support the Head of Pricing Enablement in the development of future cross lines of business pricing best practices:
    • Support the roll out of the Pricing Governance including the establishment of a Pricing Steering Committee
    • Support the creation of the “Pricing Framework” roadmap; this roadmap will include where processes can be aligned cross lines of business, where pricing can be modularized, and where tools can be build to make pricing and changes to the pricing more efficient 
    • Work with the lines of business pricing actuaries and other pricing support teams to enable the delivery of the Pricing Framework roadmap
  • Support the existing cross lines of business pricing processes:
    • Lead the ongoing development, maintenance and calibration of the case pricing tool to be used for pricing direct and delegated authority business. In particular, this involves ongoing refinement and maintenance of the tool and any methodology, benchmarks or calculations therein
    • Support the development of reporting dashboards and applications. Support the development of databases, processes, data flows, and reporting related to case pricing and delegated authority business
    • Deliver comprehensive reporting on delegated authority business across AGCS
    • Understand market developments globally and ensure that loss trends and relevant benchmarks are understood and reflected in our pricing activities. Facilitate trend committee to deliver segment level retrospective and prospective claims trend
  • Develop an expert knowledge of the company’s IT landscape, data and data systems
  • Support projects which affect the use of technical pricing and promote the use of technical pricing at AGCS
  • Establish an excellent working relationship with the lines of business pricing actuaries and other AGCS departments to ensure their long-term support for the Pricing Framework and the work of the Pricing Enablement team
  • Support education, understanding, buy-in and usage of pricing across the organization


To be successful in the role:

 

You will be/ have…

 

  • A qualified P&C Actuary with at least 3 years experience in a technical pricing environment
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills with great attention to detail
  • Experience in the development of strong end to end solutions, all the way through from problem definition to full analysis to development of actionable recommendations
  • Self-motivated / proactive with natural curiosity to ask probing questions and ensure that those questions lead to appropriate action
  • Results orientation with a proven track-record of delivering on-time projects and process improvements
  • Partnering mentality with the ability to build strong working relationships with peers, management and the business areas


Ideally you will also be/ have…

 

  • Experience in large corporate and specialty lines a strong advantage
  • Experience in the development and data-driven calibrations of pricing tools, both exposure and experience rating as well as broader case pricing
  • Project based experience including management of multiple stakeholders
  • Knowledge of VBA, Python and/or SQL an advantage
  • Experience in an international working environment
