A leader who has what it takes to manage a technical development team to ensure the running of Life Insurance core system in Allianz Malaysia. Someone with extensive experience in IT solutions and development with an eye for future technology growth. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure system architecture and framework are in alignment with Allianz group standards.
  • Responsible for timely documentation of technical design and specifications of business requirements in compliance with Allianz project standards and existing System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology.
  • Responsible for enterprise solutions in fulfilling business requirements for Life Insurance core system.
  • Maintain and manage team optimisation in assigned projects for timely completion.
  • Manage development team for new and enhancement projects, and production support.
  • Manage development team in ensuring that Service Level Agreements (SLA) of all responsible systems are met.
  • Manage development team in supporting the business operations process and user end community.
  • Ensure compliance of system development functions to SDLC and system security and control’s guidelines and procedures.
  • Undertake tasks which may be assigned to you from time to time by management.
  • Responsible for budget planning, execution and monitoring
  • Responsible for IT strategy execution and monitoring.


Key Requirements

  • Candidate must possess at least a Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Preferably with minimum of 10 years working experience in core system development with at least 5 years experience in a managerial role.
  • Must possess strong technical knowledge and experience in coding and database design preferably in Oracle Database and Java.
  • Candidate should possess business knowledge in life insurance, but candidates from financial or customer service industry will also be considered.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively through all levels of the organisation.
  • Possess strong leadership capabilities and able to manage a technical team to deliver solutions within a given timeframe.
  • Ability to plan long and short term goals for the team to support overall business plan.
  • Candidate with cloud development knowledge or experience is an advantage.
