Job Role/Purpose

The Underwriting Marine Hull team at AGCS in Hamburg work closely with clients and brokers to develop personalised solutions as well as developing new relationships. They are responsible for underwriting profitable new and renewal business to meet portfolio targets regionally including global elements. Their responsibilities also include negotiating participation, pricing and terms & conditions, acquiring new business and retaining existing business.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

As a working student, you will support with….

  • Creation of statistics
  • Reconciliation of premium and claims figures (Global Genius vs. broker figures)
  • Preparation of calculation (update of ship lists, etc.)
  • Transfer of entries into Salesforce
  • Due diligence in Economic Sanctions Review Application (ESRA) online tool
  • Documentation management on Sharepoint

 

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

 

  • Currently studying in Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably Shipping, Economics, Finance, Insurance Market management, Business Administration or other relevant fields
  • Excellent analytical skills with an ability to absorb information from various sources, then analyse, study or examine data in detail, and draw appropriate conclusions
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office tools (especially MS Excel)
  • High degree of accuracy, reliability, initiative and independent working style
  • High self-motivation and active team player
  • Good communication skills with an ability to express ideas and messages clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Great willingness to learn
  • Fluent in German and English

 

Additional information
 

  • Start: As soon as possible, duration 6 months minimum
  • Working student contract: Max. 20 hours/week - - This job is possible to be mostly remotely, with an opportunity to come to office once a week
