The purpose of the role of the IT Performance Analyst is to be the lead for the day to day management of all aspects of IT infrastructure performance measurement and improvement. The role is responsible for ensuring Allianz has a defined approach for effectively and pro-actively managing the performance and capacity of the IT estate.


The IT Performance Analyst is accountable and responsible for ensuring regular performance and capacity reporting is available in a format which allows for trend analysis, future projection of requirements and easy identification of potential issues before they impact the user community.  The role aims to optimise the infrastructure estate through close liaison with infrastructure suppliers, detailed analysis of report data and clear highlighting of key risk areas.


The role holder will be accountable for the management of third parties in relation to performance and capacity metrics – ensuring suppliers understand their obligations and deliver on them, escalating quality concerns through the appropriate channels  The role holder will also be responsible for ensuring all actions related to performance and capacity management are carried out in a way that achieves compliance against internal/external controls and maintain evidence of compliance for use in regular compliance reviews.


Key Objectives


  • Design and implement effective performance and capacity management processes.
  • Drive pro-active optimisation of IT infrastructure through the application of data driven decisions.
  • Review usage of IT infrastructure to identify opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Ensure all areas being managed with respect to performance and capacity have defined KPI’s and service levels which are regularly monitored and reported on.
  • Manage third party suppliers in respect of performance and capacity – ensuring they understand and meet their reporting obligations.
  • Work with 3rd party suppliers to identify and implement improvements to the IT infrastructure estate in the areas of performance and capacity.
  • Be the key point of contact within Allianz UK for performance and capacity related queries.
  • Govern all aspects of performance and capacity management.  Hold regular review calls with suppliers and internal stakeholders with formal governance meetings on at least a monthly basis.
  • Produce regular management reports which concisely summarise the overall position with regards performance and capacity within the AZUK estate.


Skills & Experience


  • Extensive ‘all round’ experience within IT infrastructure with a sound understanding of datacentre, network and workplace technologies and how they can be optimised.
  • Experience of working closely with 3rd party suppliers to achieve business objectives.
  • Experience of working within a performance framework including measurement of KPI’s and service performance.
  • Ability to analyse data and make structured recommendations to management on areas for improvement or change.
  • Experience of performance and capacity tool sets e.g. Dynatrace
  • Experience of implementing new processes or improving existing processes – challenging the status quo where necessary.
