We are looking for you! We are currently hiring a forward-thinking and results-oriented Data Engineer (f/m/d) to join our market-leading Finance Technology team as a Financial Information Analyst. The position is based in our Frankfurt office.

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance Technology, you will play a key role in delivering a robust, scalable and innovative data and technology environment to support the evolving needs of our business. As an experienced and capable data engineer, you will support our journey to become a pioneer in analytics, and help drive our ongoing digital transformation. Working across our Finance data architecture and with counterparts across AllianzGI, you will focus on delivering enhanced data quality, consistency, reliability, timeliness and completeness for our consumers.

 

You will join a global team, including close collaboration with our outsource service provider and other vendors and suppliers. You will bring data best practice into the Finance domain, developing and applying subject matter expertise in Investment Management use cases and requirements.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

As a Financial Information Analyst, you will support and/or be responsible for:

  • Oversight of Data collection, cleansing and integration in systems

  • Creating overall logical models and data architectures, translating business into technical terms 

  • Supervising the implementation of new dataflows between systems

  • Conceptualizing the entities and roles that interoperate within the business process

  • Enabling business processes and downstream business applications

  • Model datasets that align with business needs and supervising implementation

  • Developing algorithms to transform data into useful, actionable information

  • Supervising the test and documentation of data pipeline architectures

  • Collaborating with the financial analysts in setting up new BI data models

  • Creating new data validation methods and data analysis tools

  • Ensuring compliance with data governance and security policies

  • Monitoring data flows and technical interfaces end-to-end

 

Immediate focus areas and priorities may include:

  • Streamlining and optimizing the dataflows between finance systems

  • Aligning data definitions according to data governance

  • Setup of a data quality control system

  • Setup of a data quality monitor

 

Key requirements/skills/experience:

 

Technical skills

  • Proficient in standard techniques for data modelling

  • Experience in designing logical dataflows and data architecture

  • Excellent knowledge of Structured Query Language

  • Good understanding of ETL best practices

  • Knowledge of transactional systems and data models

  • Understanding of SAP Business Warehouse and PowerBI is a plus

 

Personal profile

  • University degree or equivalent corporate experience

  • Ideally at least 5 years of relevant professional experience

  • Experience in Finance and/or Financial Services is desirable

  • Excellent team-working and problem-solving skills

  • Strong communication skills to work successfully in a highly virtual environment

  • Ability to adapt and respond to challenging / fast-paced situations and to deal with high complexity

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Proficiency in English. Additional German language skills would be advantageous
