We are looking for you! We are currently hiring a forward-thinking and results-oriented Valuation Specialist (f/m/d), part of AllianzGI´s Investment Operations function. This position is to be filled in our Frankfurt office.

 

Within this exciting role you will be mostly related to AllianzGI’s European AIF and UCITS fund range. It requires being an expert on the subject matter of asset valuation. Your role includes close interaction with both different internal functions such as Risk Management and Investment Professionals as well as third parties such as service providers, regulators or auditors. A cross cultural awareness is a must in a team with a global reach.

 

 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Verify the accuracy of externally sourced prices for listed instruments and of externally sourced market values for OTC derivatives
  • Estimate fair values of less liquid securities (e.g. distressed debt, private debt, convertibles, delisted equity etc.) by means of an appropriate quantitative model
  • Identify and apply the appropriate valuation model for plain vanilla and/or exotic OTC derivatives (e.g. CDS options, callable swaptions, etc.) using proprietary IT applications or third party model providers
  • Validate valuation models used by external vendors.
  • Resolve time critical valuation issuein order not to compromise the daily cut-off times of AllianzGI’s investment funds
  • Improve the efficiency of the existing operational setup by means of automation (e.g. VBA, RPA, etc.)
  • Prepare inputs for pricing committees, in particular gather monthly data/statistics, generate research, etc.
  • Represent AllianzGI’s interest to external entities with a regulatory mandate (e.g. auditors)
  • Collaborate closely with valuation specialists outside the EU to ensure common standard process is being applied for all AllianzGI portfolios globally

 

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

 

  • University degree in finance, Economics, Finance or related field of study, CFA/FRM charter is considered an advantage
  • Confirmed experience within the financial industry, preferably in the asset valuation function of an international asset manager
  • First-hand experience with the pricing service of the major data providers (e.g. Bloomberg, Markit, Refinitiv)
  • Sound knowledge of most widely used valuation models (e.g. Discounted Cash Flows, Enterprise Value, Black Scholes, Stochastic Volatility, etc.)
  • Sophisticated skills with Microsoft Office (especially MS Access and MS Excel) as well as basic coding skills in VBA, SQL and Python
  • Experience in streamlining processes (e.g. automating recurring workflows)
  • Proficiency in English is required, further languages (especially German) are beneficial
  • Excellent communication skills and good communicator with the ability to effectively communicate to various levels (management, portfolio managers, sales/client service, outside business partners)
  • Able to work independently and flexibly in a team environment
