We are looking for you! We are currently hiring a forward-thinking and results-oriented Business Developer (f/m/d) for Private Markets for our Allianz Insurance Asset Management (AIAM) team. This position is based in either our Frankfurt, Munich or Paris office and can involve travelling within Europe or globally.

 

AIAM was built to strengthen the position of Allianz Global Investors in providing balanced, active asset management solutions to Allianz insurance entities for their general account by continuously seeking to improve AllianzGI's offering and service delivery to Allianz / Allianz Investment Management (AIM) as the largest, most significant institutional client of AllianzGI.

 

As part of AllianzGI, AIAM operates as the central client interface function to Allianz / AIM for their general account assets. As a Business Developer for private market strategies within AIAM you will own the responsibilities to identify, create opportunities for real asset and private market strategies in particular. You will also lead and coordinate projects to explore implementation and adaptation of these strategies within AllianzGI and our client sponsors in various insurance entities globally.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and create business opportunities for investment strategies supporting the investment needs of the group balance sheets, especially focused on real asset, private market investments
  • Maintain client relationship for invested alternative strategies as the central client interface to global specialist teams and local sponsor
  • Support account management on local sponsor level with investment strategy specific presentations and implementation
  • Your success and impact will be measured on the amount and breadth of optionality for new real asset strategies crafted with our corporate parent

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

Required:

  • Several years of experience investing in Alternatives with institutional investors, notably insurance companies
  • Detailed understanding and experience in private market investment strategies, ideally both on the private debt and equity side. Experience in selecting managers for real asset, private market strategies is a clear plus
  • Project management skills
  • Thought leadership to build new investment strategy ideas
  • Proficiency in English, very good business knowledge in German and / or French
  • Ability to work in high performing and collaborative environment
  • Interpersonal and intercultural skills

Preferred:

  • Experience in deal structuring
  • Good understanding of accounting and taxation implications for insurance investors
  • CFA, CAIA or similar qualifications
