We are looking for you! We are currently hiring a forward-thinking and results-oriented Senior Business Analyst / Data Analyst (f/m/d). This position will be based in our Frankfurt office or alternatively in our Paris or London offices.

As part of the Investment Function, the objective of Investment Data & Technology team is to achieve a more consistent and scalable investment infrastructure and to empower the investment teams to harness the full power of data and technology.

To further strengthen our team, we are looking for an experienced Business Analyst with a strong data engineering background who is aspiring to make a difference.

Being involved in projects and innovation activities, the successful candidate will work together with professionals from Investment, Data, IT, and other functions in a very dynamic and collaborative environment to define and deliver new solutions in line with our company IT and Investment strategy.

Being a domain expert and a representative of Investment your role will also be to actively influence the strategy to take care of the data and technology needs of our Investment professionals.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Advice Investment Professionals to support their investment process with data and technology solutions
  • Translate requirements into concrete solution designs and identify where data should be sourced from - either internally or in vendor data feeds
  • Work with investment engineers, IT and data experts in agile groups to engineer innovative solutions while ensuring reusability for future use cases
  • Ensure solutions take the full benefit of the firm wide data strategy and cloud infrastructure
  • Be the expert and steward for specific Investment data sets and make them available to the teams
  • Actively engage on all levels to influence the data and technology strategy for Investment and the firm
  • Walk the talk and be a promotor of professional Engineering, SDLC and Quality Management

 

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

 

  • Excellent knowledge of the investment process, and exposure to and understanding of all asset classes
  • Solid grasp of Front Office Processes and Data needs
  • Very good comprehension of the use of market data in the investment process and experience in working with those
  • Broad overview of Investment Market Data Vendors and their offerings
  • Profound Knowledge of Platforms from Bloomberg and Refinitiv especially with regards to their data offerings
  • Experience with portfolio management systems (Bloomberg AIM, Thinkfolio, …) or decision support tools is important
  • Strong knowledge of the Python language
  • Advanced working knowledge of SQL
  • Good understanding of building data pipelines; experience using ETL tools such as SSIS or Azure Data Factory
  • Working knowledge of “big data” tools such as Spark and data lakes
  • Good background in data warehousing with experience of dimensional data modelling
  • Ability to negotiate and influence outcomes that inspire change
  • Good interpersonal skills to build and grow relationships flexible with an ability to work in intercultural teams across time zones on complex projects

Proficiency in English required, local languages German or French are a plus
