The Opportunity

We are now Recruiting for an Actuary to join our Actuarial Team, based in Dublin 4. Reporting to the Head of Reserving & Capital, you will work alongside of both qualified and trainee actuaries who continue to achieve the highest standard of collaboration, in a hybrid working model.

As part of the expanding Actuarial function, you will have responsibility for:

-          reserving;

-          regulatory reporting;

-          IFRS17;

-          profitability monitoring and planning;

-          data analysis; and

-          capital modelling (using the company’s Solvency II Internal Model).

As an Actuary in this multi-disciplinary team you will gain exposure to all elements of the actuarial function, working closely with colleagues in finance, claims, pricing and underwriting both at home and abroad.

Role Responsibilities

• Manage and prepare the Actuarial elements of Solvency II returns encompassing Group reporting and QRTs/NSTs
• Contribute to actuarial/Solvency II elements of business planning & steering and the company’s ORSA process e.g. through scenario analysis
• Anticipate and communicate potential changes in quarter-on-quarter results impacting business metrics
• Build and refresh relevant actuarial models/processes in line with both Allianz Global P&C best practice and regulatory requirements
• Maintain procedure documentation in line with changes in approaches, emerging best practice and changing regulatory environment
• Create and sustain strong working relationships with all internal and Allianz SE Group stakeholders
• Participate in international group projects, where applicable

Key Requirements

Essential

• Nearly/ newly Qualified Actuary
• 3-5 years’ experience in an Actuarial Role
• Working knowledge of Solvency II

Desirable

• Previous experience in a non-life (re)insurer
• Working knowledge of IFRS17
• Extensive knowledge of the Irish non-life insurance market
• Demonstrated experience in communicating with (non-)technical colleagues
