This is a full time position based in our Dublin office at Allianz House, Elmpark, Merrion Road, Dublin 4.

The Role:

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Financial Accountant will be responsible for providing timely and accurate financial reporting to their panel of allocated internal clients, supporting the month end process, regulatory returns, Allianz plc and Group reporting.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, ambitious, self-starter who has the ability to work on their initiative and within a team. In addition, this person must have an ability to handle numerous deadlines and will take ownership for seeing all jobs through to completion or final review by finance management. The individual will be encouraged to develop strong working relationships with key business stakeholders across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of Financial Statements, management accounts and month end reports

  • Involved in the timely monthly and quarterly financial close, analytical review and financial reporting process

  • Collaborate on the preparations of regulatory filings

  • Assist with the preparation of IFRS 17

  • Assist with system upgrades, implementation upgrades and automation initiatives

  • Maintain accounting policies and procedures

  • Prepare reports and presentations for monthly Board of Management and quarterly Board of Director and relevant sub-committee meetings

  • Prepare and circulate key monthly management trading information and reconciliations

  • Prepare and coordinate third party statutory returns

  • Assist and provide mentorship to more junior teams members

Required Experience


  • ACA, ACCA qualified accountant, with a minimum of 4 years’ experience

  • Knowledge and experience of re/insurance accounting treatment and solvency II

  • Prior General Ledger experience – SAP

  • Strong technical accounting experience

  • Demonstrated experience of coordinating and delivering highly accurate output in an environment of multiple deadlines

  • Proven ability to manage and complete a variety of projects simultaneously


  • Big 4 Qualified accountant
