JOB PURPOSE/ROLE

The Opportunity:
To work as part of the Financial Reporting team with primary responsibility for the analysis and interpretation of financial and reporting data; to provide support and insights to the Finance function to aid decision making, performance monitoring, planning and control.
This role will report into the Financial Accounting and Reporting Manager

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Designing and developing several financial models to support planning, annual and rolling forecasts
• Build, maintain and document data and financial information models from source data with appropriate controls to support analysis and provide insight and dashboard analysis to senior management.
• Monitoring the organization’s financial performance through the analysis of financial results, forecasts, variances, and trends.
• Implementing technical tools to improve financial analysis process and the provision of timely accurate information as required for regular or ad hoc requests.
• Coordinate and complete corporate planning activities with business areas and provide analysis and insights for BoM and group as part of the Corporate Planning process.
• Coordinate with underwriting and Actuarial on planning analysis to ensure appropriate and consistent methods applied as part of the Corporate Planning process.
• Support monthly and annual reporting process and preparation of analysis on returns as needed.
• Liaising with Group and key stakeholders on initiatives and opportunities to optimise the financial reporting process
• Assist Finance Manager with preparation of reports and presentations for Board of Management and relevant Committee meetings and represent the Financial Reporting team at cross functional meetings as may be required.
• Evaluating and suggesting enhancements to improve reports and data processing and assisting in projects to improve the efficiency, quality and accuracy of data for decision making.
• Maintain the integrity of company systems in respect of available information

Person Specification
In addition to strong data analysis and technical skills, the successful candidate will be a self-motivated, ambitious, self-starter who has the ability to work on their own initiative and within a team. In addition, this person must have an ability to manage numerous deadlines and will take responsibility for seeing all jobs through to completion or final review by finance management. The individual will be expected to develop strong working relationships with key business stakeholders across the organisation

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Essential:
• Previous data analytics and financial modelling experience
• Primary degree with incorporating Data Science, Maths, Statistics and Finance.
• Demonstrated competency with financial data manipulation and analysis.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.
• Demonstrate excellent presentation and report writing skills.
• Must be self-motivated and possess excellent organisational skills.
• Demonstrate experience of coordinating and delivering highly accurate output in an environment of multiple deadlines.
• Proven ability to manage and complete a variety of projects simultaneously.

Desirable:
• Prior experience in working within a corporate or financial services environment
• Working knowledge of financial accounting, current issues and regulatory reporting requirements.
