Job Overview

Responsible for assisting with the delivery of the day to day IFRS & SII activities .
Work collaboratively as part of the Finance Accounting & Reporting team to assist with meeting all monthly and quarterly deadlines.
 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Supporting senior accountants with the monthly IFRS closing for AWP H&L Dublin Branch. 
  • Participate in review meetings on IFRS accounts for AWP H&L Dublin Branch as required.
  • Assist with the preparation of the quarterly presentation pack for review by management before presenting to Allianz Partners CFO.
  • Responsible for assigned balance sheet accounts including preparation of monthly reconciliations & investigations. Monitor progress on queries and close out open items on your assigned accounts on a monthly basis.

Operational

  • Work closely with the Dublin team to assist with the AWP H&L SII / MVBS quarterly closings as required to ensure they are delivered in line with deadlines and in a timely manner. 
  • Assist with quarterly and annual regulatory & statutory reporting including quarterly CSO returns & supporting internal and external audits as required. 
  • Responsible for the quarterly & monthly tax deliverables which include IPT returns & GTC. 
  • Develop a strong working relationship with the team in the FSS in India. Working closely to ensure processes are completed in line with expectations. Complete initial review on outputs as required.
  • Assist with monitoring FSS team outputs and processes, ensuring quality of work is to the agreed standard and sufficient controls are in place.
  • Monitoring of SLA’s.

Projects

  • Actively participate in Finance Accounting & Reporting projects as required. 

Process Improvement

  • Enhance processes and procedures at the outset and on an ongoing basis to ensure a strong control environment with standard policies and procedures. This should extend to all IRCS requirements where we have strong control framework to support accurate financial reporting.

Value Add

  • Support the implementation of value add activities that demonstrate to the business and key stakeholders the Finance value add components.
  • Actively participate in the Finance team including promoting and driving department initiatives.

 

Requirements

To be successful in this position you will need to have the following skills/ experience:

  • 2 - 3 years’ experience in some or all of the following key Accounting & Reporting areas:
  • IFRS monthly accounts preparation, with tight monthly deadlines
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Reinsurance accounting 
  • Solvency II and regulatory reporting
  • Tax (IPT, CT & VAT)
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team
  • Hold a third level business degree and studying towards an appropriate professional qualification
  • Fluency in English 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to manage relationships both internal and external
  • Ability to express ideas and messages clearly, both written and verbally
  • Strong financial and analytical skills
  • High standards of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
