Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Ownership and maintenance of master Allianz Partners (AP) contracts within the Medical Provider Management Function, ensuring contracts are robust, meet current legislation and manage corporate risk, with a balanced view to ensure our network providers are able to sign the clauses without occurring unreasonable risk;
  • Ownership and Accountability for the delivery of legal contracts across the globe, including, but not limited to:
  • Enabling all AP legal entities access to a shared portfolio of contracts;
  • Legal advice for the negotiation of contracts;
  • Advice and guidance on the appropriateness of signing external contracts;
  • Drafting supporting documents for MPM such as, but not limited to non- disclosure agreements, 
  • short form contracts and memorandums of understanding, side letters, notifications;
  • Primarily manage the review of a wide variety of global agreements with international medical providers within prescribed deadlines;
  • Liaise with and manage communications with providers on contractual issues, provide guidance to MPM local teams on contract disputes, preventive and/or remedial action, steps for termination, general legal advice;
  • Liaise with and manage feedback of the global Medical Provider Management team with respect to review of provider contracts;
  • Draft agreements and new templates as and when required and periodically review and update standard contract templates;
  • Support business units in negotiation of provider contracts and other third party agreements;
  • Escalate important issues and provide support to the Legal Manager;
  • Implement / update contract management processes as required;
  • Ensure the Allianz Partners entities are protected in their contractual arrangements;
  • Delivery of the global contract strategy within the Medical Provider Management function;
  • Draft additional master documents to the Allianz Partners suite including a short form contract, air ambulance contract etc, preparing new templates as required; 
  • Manage the review of a wide variety of global agreements with international medical providers within prescribed deadlines;
  • Liaise with and manage feedback of the global Medical Provider Management team with respect to review of provider contracts;
  • Legal advice and guidance to MPM on contract disputes, steps for termination and remedial action;
  • Risk based advice to support negotiations. The post holder will be expected to generate suggestions to move contract negotiations forward;
  • Ownership and maintenance of the legal aspects of MPM`s Target Operating Model.
  • Implement contract management processes as required and keep track record of the agreements negotiated, in order to prepare relevant reports;
  • Liaise with the AP lawyers in the business units to guarantee that there are no local legal obstacles for running the centralised health care services;
  • Elaborate and update governance documents in relation to the MPM agreements, ensure the translation of templates or other files into Portuguese and Spanish; 
  • Prepare and deliver trainings to the MPM colleagues and/or to AP lawyers in the business units, as applicable.
  • Support Allianz Care Legal Team in any legal matters as required.



  • To be successful in this position you will need to have the following skills/ experience:
  • Qualified lawyer with minimum 1-2 years PQE
  • Experience in contracts review, negotiation and drafting essential
  • Experience in an in-house legal role or commercial law firm required.
  • Experience in a similar industry (insurance / reinsurance) preferable
  • Excellent written English required
  • Proficiency in another EU language desirable
