Role Purpose:

As an Internal Auditor employed by Allianz plc, you will work as part of a team with responsibility for execution of audits across a number of Allianz Group companies. The primary company you will provide IA services to will be Darta Saving Life Assurance DAC (“AZ Darta”). Periodically you will also be involved with audits in Allianz Global Life dac (“AGL”) and Allianz plc (“AZI”). AZ Darta outsource their internal audit activity to Allianz plc.

You will assess internal controls and make recommendations to the business to minimise risk and exposures; improving efficiency, effectiveness and economy of operations and providing assurance to management on risk management, control and governance processes.

There will be opportunities to participate in audits in the wider Allianz Group where there is a strong collaborative approach in the global audit community.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute assigned audit tasks in a timely manner in line with Group standards

  • Evaluate and assess business processes and objectives, determine key controls and risks, assess and rank controls, risks and exposures

  • Design audit tests and prepare audit programmes based on assessment of controls, risks and exposures

  • Present and agree audit approach, programmes, work and reports

  • Develop audit findings, agree findings with management

  • Prepare audit reports and agree management actions

  • Apply audit methodology in carrying out assignments and with Allianz Group audit standards

  • Maximise use of Data Analytics, where relevant


Essential Experience

  • A relevant third level qualification

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience of work within a regulated environment, ideally within financial services

  • Proven experience of delivering highly accurate output in an environment of multiple deadlines

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the regulatory environment and relevant internal control processes

Desirable Experience

  • External/Internal Audit or Risk Management experience within a financial services organisation

  • Experience of Life insurance business desirable

  • Qualified or part-qualified auditor/actuary/accountant
