The purpose of this role is to proactively establish and maintain database deployed products within the business domain encompassing a number of testing (UAT, Integration), production support, disaster recovery and production environments. Working within a small overall IT team alongside external 3rd Party vendors for the provision of mission critical high volume OLTP services through call centre and Internet services. 

Key Role Responsibilities:

• Responsible for providing input to the solution design process
• Maintaining Data Integrity of databases throughout the development and delivery lifecycle
• Effective Database Administration and Database environment management
• Ensuring effective Database backup and recovery processes are in place

Knowledge, skills, qualifications and experience required:

• Experience of Database Backup and Recovery
• Experience of Load / stress testing
• Experience of Database and Application Server Performance tuning
• Experience of significant data migration exercises
• Experience of monitoring and advising on system security
• Experience of environment support within database deployed environments
• Good knowledge of working with software change control systems and change control of technical environments
• Greenfield experience in establishing entirely new database mission critical environments and/or material experience in significant data migration exercises is desirable
• Proven technical experience in an MS SQL Server Environment at both Production and Development/Test Levels (2012 – 2019)
• Proven technical experience in SQL Server OLTP (On-line Transaction Processing) and Data Warehousing environments
• SQL Server Clustering and Configuration
