What you do:

  • Draft and review funds related documentation including offering documents and marketing materials, and provide legal advice and assistance on registration of funds throughout the region

  • Advise on legal issues in connection with mandates from institutional clients

  • Draft, review and negotiate investment management agreements and investment advisory agreements in relation to the management and advisory of mutual funds set up by companies within the Allianz Global Investors group

  • Advise on legal issues in connection with the distribution and marketing of funds; draft, review and negotiate distribution related agreements with business partners in the region

  • Assist with projects involving Allianz Global Investors’ Asia companies and/or global mutual fund platforms of the Allianz Global Investors group

  • Assist in the maintenance of regulatory guidelines for sales and marketing conduct in Asia Pacific

  • Review, draft and negotiate other agreements and provide legal advice in connection with all aspects of the business activities of the Allianz Global Investors group in Asia Pacific

  • Assist in the drafting of policies, procedures and guidelines relevant to the Legal Department

  • Manage and maintain intercompany agreements between Allianz Global Investors companies and other members of the Allianz group

  • Coordinate and liaise with legal as well as business counterparts of group companies in other regions to facilitate review and set up of global service agreements or roll out group initiatives, and provide support and advice from a regional perspective

  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of templates, regional regulatory reference documents and precedents to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Legal Department

  • Provide other ad hoc legal support to the Legal team and to various business teams with Allianz Global Investors


What you bring:

  • A University degree in Law from a reputable university

  • Admitted in Hong Kong (preferred) and/or other common law jurisdiction(s)

  • 4-8 years relevant experience

  • Excellent English

  • Fluency in Asian language(s) highly desirable (Cantonese/Mandarin/Japanese) (spoken and written)

  • Excellent legal drafting and negotiation skills

  • Good inter-personal communication skills

  • Mature, independent and proven ability to work on a cross-jurisdictional basis

  • Must be a team player

  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and achieve

  • Commercially-focused, and a problem solver

  • Able to manage time well and juggle competing priorities
