What you do:

  • Serve the role of Data Protection Officer and Records & Information Management Officer as part of the Global Data Protection Team and provide subject matter expert advice and legal support to Allianz Global Investors' businesses on personal data protection and records management laws and requirements in Asia and draft relevant documentation including privacy notice and policies

  • Support the Regional DPO in implementation of Allianz Global Investors’ Global Data Protection and Records Management programs, including developing and implementing awareness programs, conducting trainings and participating in special projects on an as-needed basis.

  • Advise on legal and regulatory issues relating to financial institutions for use of information / digital technology, digital investment and virtual banking, trademark registrations / maintenance and other intellectual properties, outsourcing, information security and data/record retention and storage

  • Coordinate with legal teams and stakeholders from other regions on global projects relating to information / digital technology, information security, personal data privacy and data/record retention and storage

  • Prepare global and local advice and draft policies and procedures in connection with personal data privacy, information security and data/record retention and storage for Allianz Global Investors

  • Work closely with, and provide advice to, local and global IT team, distribution team and HR team regarding personal data, technology and information security related issues

  • Assist the AP legal team on fund platforms related matters, including drafting and reviewing fund related documentation such as offering documents and other marketing materials and providing legal advice and assistance on registration of funds throughout the region (including preparing and managing intercompany agreements between local and regional Allianz Global Investors companies and other members of the Allianz group)

  • Review, draft and negotiate other agreements (including IT agreements, IP licensing agreements, leases, etc.) and provide legal advice in connection with all aspects of the business activities of the Allianz Global Investors group in Asia Pacific

  • Assist in the drafting of policies, procedures and guidelines relevant to the Legal Department

  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of templates, regional regulatory reference documents and precedents to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Legal Department.

  • Other ad hoc assistance to the Global Data Protection and local Legal team

 

What you bring:

  • A University degree in Law from a reputable university

  • Admitted in Hong Kong (or other common law jurisdiction(s)) or one of the EU jurisdictions

  • 3-7 years relevant experience

  • Familiarity with rules and regulations related to data protection and records management in core Asia-Pacific jurisdictions noted above

  • Excellent English

  • Excellent legal drafting and negotiation skills

  • Excellent inter-personal communication skills and willing to take late calls with our offices in Europe

  • Mature, independent and proven ability to work on cross-jurisdictional basis and able to work professionally

  • Must be a team player

  • Positive attitude and high EQ with a willingness to learn and achieve

  • Commercially focused/problem solver

  • Able to manage time well and juggle competing priorities

  • Basic knowledge on EU GDPR (preferred)
