The Intern with the National Accounts Underwriting team will participate with and contribute to various tasks.  The internship program is designed to provide the intern with an opportunity to apply a macro understanding of technology and technological developments in the real world by working side-by-side with our underwriting, claims and support team professionals.  The internship will focus on areas such as identification and analysis of new technological developments through the lens of insurance and risk.  Interns will participate in a wide range of learning and development opportunities including job shadows, attendance at client underwriting meetings, various speaking engagements and events designed to expose the intern to other areas of insurance.

 

Responsibilities:


Underwriting
Identification and analysis of new technological developments through the lens of insurance and risk. Processing transactions on (LoBs) underwriting; may include quotations, new business issuance, policy changes & renewals                                                                                                            
                                                                                                            
Special Projects
Will collaborate on a proof of concept for a new product offering
Will be given other projects that can be completed within the length of the internship                                                                                                            
                                                                                                            
On the Job Learning
Participate in a wide range of learning and development activities focused on immersing the intern into how insurance works and being able to apply a macro understanding of technology and technological developments in the real world by working side by side with underwriting, claims and support team professionals                                                                                         

Required Skills:


Knowledge of basic computer operations including a strong working knowledge of Excel and other MS office applications                                        
Ability to apply field of study learnings to the internship                                        
Knowledge of basic math skills      
A self starter with the ability to work as a team member in a fast paced dynamic environment                                        
Strong oral and written communication                                        
Strong problem solving and analytical skills                                        
Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Pursuing university degree in Economics or Finance or other discipline                                                
Minimum GPA of 3.0
