What you do:

The Senior Actuarial Analyst assists management in developing business strategies and solving complex business problems using actuarial experience, knowledge of external market forces and awareness of industry trends. You will generate and analyze complex data used in actuarial computation and documentation for global pricing, product development, forecasting, regulatory filings, or other actuarial research.  You will also identify and communicate the profit and loss implications of underwriting and financial decisions for Global Financial Lines.


Responsibilities:

In this role you will…

  • Keep abreast of market trends and practices.
  • Promote close collaboration and interaction with the various business areas (Allianz Group, Underwriting, Claims, Finance, etc.) to foster mutual understanding of how business developments impact actuarial drivers in the financials.
  • Prepare and perform Actuarial analysis for assigned business area including documentation, communication and explanation of results.
  • Manage and Drive forward own area of responsibility or project.
  • Develop global actuarial approaches and processes as well as enhance actuarial models and analyses.
  • Peer review work from other team members.

 

To be successful in the role:

You will have…

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or Master’s Degree), preferable in Mathematics. Statistics or other appropriate discipline or qualified by experience in related discipline;
  • ACAS, with at least five years of actuarial pricing experience;
  • P&C Actuarial experience across multiple lines of business (Financial Lines pricing experience preferred);
  • Experience contributing to the development/enhancement and implementation of pricing models/analyses and processes;
  • Proven experience in communication of results to stakeholders;
  • Experience working internationally;
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office including VBA and relevant expert systems such as R, SQL, Python or Java, etc.);
  • Job specific knowledge with regards to market dynamics, standard concepts and approaches, regulations/compliance standards, reporting requirements (e.g., reinsurance and underwriting knowledge, reserving techniques, data flows, etc.);
  • Ability to identify patterns and root causes in complex (e.g., ambiguous, from various sources) data and processes to rapidly distill key issues and provide insight in various situations; and
  • Ability to persuade and motivate others without direct authority.
