Reporting to the Australian CEO and a member of the local Executive Committee, this role is accountable for strategic and financial leadership of the Assistance Line of Business in the Australian market. Working with local and global colleagues, you will work across the Allianz Partners matrix to execute a strategy that positions our assistance business as the market leader. The role will own the P&L for this Line of Business and requires true end-to-end leadership across all of our functional teams delivering to this market. It has specific reporting accountability for our Product, Marketing & Innovation (PMI) and Underwriting teams.

With a focus on customer and partner excellence, you will be responsible for driving a holistic approach to product development, business development, opportunity identification, sales pipeline and conversion, customer insights and feedback, on boarding and integration. You will work closely with our operations teams to ensure service levels and delivery are achieving targets.



  • Develop and disseminate industry insight and market intelligence across all sub LoBs to position Allianz Partners as a leading brand across the assistance markets.


  • Build and maintain key relationships with stakeholders across Allianz Australia as a key stakeholder and customer for the Assistance portfolio and collaborate constructively for opportunities of mutual interest.


  • Deliver a customer centric value proposition focused on customer value, stakeholder and community expectations. You will execute this by ensuring compliance with all relevant legal requirements and Allianz Partners global policies and functional rules, by implementing effective risk and compliance controls and reporting mechanisms and building a robust risk and compliance culture across your team.


  • The role will define our target market and sectors that drive the Sales & B2C teams and leveraging your industry knowledge, identify, target and convert customers and partners to grow the roadside, easy living, home and MDDR Line of Business year on year.


  • Ensure the delivery of agreed financial KPI’s including Sales revenue, operating profit, expense ratios, SLA’s and NPS
  • Lead and motivate a team of professionals & leaders to achieve all Business Unit and departmental goals and objectives and ensure operational excellence in all activities


  • Working with global and local Underwriting & PMI colleagues to deliver market leading capability, insights and a culture of technical and product excellence


  • Build relationships and engage effectively with your global peers to seek out global best practice that will deliver ongoing efficiencies, systems and process improvements into the Aus business whilst ensuring it is fit for purpose for the local market needs.



  • Demonstrate regional and global leadership in strategic portfolio management, delivery and innovation.
  • Manage risks in line with Allianz Partners Australia’s risk appetite



  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in key leadership roles in a significant commercial organization
  • Demonstrated experience of running a sophisticated P&L
  • High level understanding of the Australian Insurance or Assistance sectors
  • Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Business or a related field and ideally demonstrated achievement of post graduate qualifications in a related field.
  • Proven success leading large, complex and diverse teams in both local or regional/global context
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and drive appropriate commercial outcomes
  • In depth understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements of the Australian Financial services Industry post the 2008 Banking Royal Commission
  • Demonstrates exceptional written and verbal skills with a strong ability to influence and achieve desired outcomes across all audiences, internal and external
  • Strong ability to build strong and effective relationships, collaborate and influence key stakeholders in a highly complex global matrix environment
