Within the Global System Integration Tribe, which is delivering and operating Allianz Partners’ E2E target solutions, eMagin is the Allianz Technology eCommerce global unified platform, rolled out in over 14 countries in Europe and providing real time quotation and turn-key sales distribution and e-claim services of insurance products direct B2C, agency B2B & integrated B2B2C channels, across multiple Lines of Business: Travel, Medical & Road Side Assistance, as well as Mobile Device & Appliance Protection.


As a Technical Development Lead based in Barcelona, you will be part of an international cross-functional agile team (with delivery locations in Paris and Bangkok) taking over end-to-end ownership for various business applications in fast-paced enterprise projects, contributing to world-wide rollouts and guaranteeing stable solutions to our client, Allianz Partners, which is striving to achieve Product harmonization and simplification by embracing Digitialization & Automation at scale.


This position requires coaching, mentoring and engaging the other Scrum team members from a technical perspective, such as defining and ensuring coding best practices, architecture standards and integrity of components, which are a combination of Java backend and JS/Angular frontend. Together with other developers, architects and QA you will be also co-creating the evolution roadmaps of the given component(s) and ensuring their timely implementation and continuous improvement.




  • Provide technical specification for identified developments ensuring that they respond to business needs and are clearly understood by outsourced development teams.
  • Provide technical leadership to the rest of developers, act as a mentor.
  • Maintain and evolve Java and JS/Angular applications.
  • Turn requirements into working, tested software respecting best code practices, including code reviews.
  • Maintain software development environment including deployment jobs.
  • Ensure technical consistency of new developments with the current eCommerce platform and with architectural/production guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance and quality of the respective specifications and guidelines of the company and legislation (e.g. security, service definitions).
  • Support architecture and production teams to organize, document and oversee development processes, tools and technical choices.
  • In alignment with the QAs: engage to define & execute the automated testing strategy runs
  • Supervise and manage deployment of new applications, services and developments.
  • On call-duty support out of office hours is expected, to be provided in rotations.




  • University degree or equivalent education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar qualification.
  • Minimum 8 years of work experience in digital software development.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Good knowledge of eCommerce business models.
  • Good knowledge of IT architecture namely ecommerce platforms, both web and mobile.
  • Full proficiency in English (min. 780-TOEIC/ B2-CEFR), French is a plus.
