Role Purpose:

NA Regional responsibility for broker relationship management and business development.   Day-to-day oversight of identified key broker partners and execution of targeted premium growth, retention, and profitability across all lines of business.  Responsible for executing NA Regional business strategy, including Broker Sales Planning, Broker Engagement Model, pipeline development and management, business analysis, remuneration, and governance in line with Global Distribution.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Business and Relationship Development with Broker Partners

  • Spearhead annual sales planning with assigned brokers, including business development, strategic engagement, retention initiatives, cross-selling opportunities (pipelining), and profitability
  • Develop NA Regional market potential via different industry segments, broker segments and Lines of Business
  • Manage internal and external delivery of Broker sales plans via strategic alignment and pipelining/cross-selling activities
  • Plan, manage, and deliver on broker segmentation strategy, including the Ascent loyalty program

Act as Key Influencer and Resource to Distribution and Underwriters

  • Drive client-centric and “play-to-win” culture, behavior and sales capabilities both within the Broker Management team and cross-functionally
  • Participate in execution of Sales Culture initiatives, including Sales training, both within Distribution and across LoBs
  • Act as a LoB advocate to escalate new business opportunities, key renewals, and outstanding issues with senior management of Broker Partners
  • Consistent and Disciplined approach to Distribution and Line of Business Engagement, Communication, and Collaboration to ensure alignment with goals and priorities

Pipeline Ownership and Execution

  • Build and execute pipeline across all Lines of Business using external (InPoint, etc.) and internal (Salesforce, Quote Not Taken, etc.) data sources.
  • Identify NA Regional business development opportunities, including new markets, target segments and clients, in collaboration with the broader Distribution Team (Distribution Managers, KAMs, etc.) and Lines of Business
  • Support development of overall regional business strategy and definition of AGCS Value proposition  

Regular engagement with broker carrier liaisons and executive teams to drive the AGCS value proposition

  • Schedule and lead regular executive leadership meeting AGCS/Brokers to effectively drive top-down strategy
  • Drive strategic initiatives using data, analytics, and identification of performance patterns to support new business, retention, and profitability
  • Identify areas of focus based on broker organization and structure (industry verticals, centers of competence, etc.) and execute strategically and in tandem with Distribution and Lines of Business
  • Successfully increase AGCS "Size of Wallet", achieving broker sales plans in line with enterprise growth, retention, and profitability targets


Required Skills:

  • Preferably Degree in Business, Economics, Law, or appropriate discipline
  • Significant experience in industrial or specialty insurance industry in front-line business development
  • Evidence of successful leading and managing sales and marketing teams, ideally across different locations
  • Well recognized long term relationship building with brokers at peer group level and well established within local market
  • Significant experience of working teams across numerous locations within a complex matrix organization
  • Advanced ability to define segmentation and client differentiation strategies; ability to define clear value proposition
  • Expert ability to analyze multiple sources of data, implement tools and methodologies to develop market, competitor, and broker insight
  • Knowledge of large risks & specialty risk insurance. Ability to utilize experience to implement best practice in channel management.
  • Ability to apply the knowledge of how the market operates and functions, the business needs and customer needs
