Key Account Manager – Commercial | SA – Adelaide

We’re seeking a Key Account Manager to join our Broker Distribution Team in the Commercial Division. The Commercial division is Allianz Australia’s largest distribution channel whose customers include local, national and international brokers, and buying groups throughout Australia and New Zealand.


This role will report into the State Distribution Manager and play a key role in developing best in market relationships with allocated key brokers within the segmentation program.


It will be your responsibility to:

  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with a National Partner Broker Panel for the assigned segment of the business to enable understanding of their present and future needs and proposing products, services and upgrades to maintain and grow revenue. 
  • Display market leading sales behaviours demonstrated by effective usage of CRM to monitor develop relationships, single sales, scheme and whole account opportunities.
  • Develop and fulfil sales plan to achieve financial metrics, retention, target conversions and strike rates against developed and well managed business plans.
  • Record activities, Broker profiles and development plans that enable quality measurement, cycle management, reporting and delivery to service level agreements.
  • Understand customer insights and implement actions to continuously improve the Broker experience.
  • Support the implementation of strategic initiatives to enhance sales capability, ensuring activities are in line with divisional and organisation focus areas and targeted outcomes.
  • Own responsibility for credit/debt position for assigned panel of Customers/Brokers and work with Credit to address outstanding items.


Important to your success:

  • Extensive experience in relevant commercial insurance lines would be expected.
  • An established network of contacts within the broking community built from your experience working as a broker, broker relationship manager or Senior Underwriter.
  • Proven strategic sales ability including effective business planning, negotiation skills and the ability to influence and persuade.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm and ability to optimise business value to customers by delivering high quality services and positive customer experiences to sustain and enhance the customer base.
  • Adept at proactively building and maintaining professional relationships and networks to enhance industry positioning, exchange knowledge and elicit beneficial outcomes.
  • Ability to identify potential issues, evaluate information, exercise judgement and deliver effective, customer-focused solutions.   
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating and presenting with clarity, impact and influence.
