Job Purpose/Role
Based remotely in NA, reporting directly to the Allianz Risk Consultant (ARC) Liability Manager of NA region and operating in a Matrix managements system, the cyber expert will be responsible for providing cyber related exposure analysis and risk improvement consultancy services as well as identify potential cyber threats, attack vectors and vulnerabilities to AGCS’s large corporate cyber clients across several international locations. In this role, the cyber expert will support globally underwriters by conducting desk-top-reviews, risk dialogues with the clients and the brokers, on-site engineering visits to the facilities of existing and prospective clients and maintain professional working relationships with Underwriting, Market Management, ARC, Claims, clients and brokers. The global role will be actively involved in the appraisal and development of cyber products, increase ARC cyber knowledge and resource sharing and be one of the points of contact for cyber risks, providing presentations and information when required.


Key Responsibilities
Risk Assessments

  • Perform cyber risk assessment desktop analysis of existing and/or potential AGCS Cyber clients evaluating and summarizing exposures, risk mitigation controls, and deliver cyber desktop assessment (DTA) reports for clients & underwriting. Survey client operations obtain appropriate data, identify hazards, discuss findings with appropriate parties. Generate loss control reports, recommendations etc. and meet reporting deadlines in accordance with departmental performance objectives.

Consulting Services

  • Carry out cyber risk dialogues or site surveys when required with large accounts, which involve complex cyber risks. Provide technical consultation to AGCS clients in relation to cyber exposures. Work with claims post loss as required. Review of ARC internal cyber risk assessments and ensure quality of work provided by 3rd parties.

Global Thinking & Execution

  • Understand, analyse, and provide insights on the ARC Cyber global portfolio and its changing trends by compiling reports when required or by participating in relative ARC projects. Maintain and enhance technical skills and expertise in Cyber security to support global business development. Support the ARC Liability Cyber Team leader to coordinate and monitor the ARC Cyber workload by enhancing his/her availability to support accounts globally.


  • Improve and develop tools and methods to appropriately capture and quantity the diverse set of 1st and 3rd party cyber risks. Collaborate closely with the ARC Liability Cyber Team and Underwriting in improving and promoting the Cyber product, using all the available digital tools.


  • Implement best practices for Cyber risk assessment in line with overall ARC processes and Functional Rules. Improve Cyber risk assessment processes by efficiency savings and reducing complexities. Perform quality control at work provided by 3rd parties.


  • Develop and maintain clear communications with Underwriting, Claims, Marketing, ARC, and Business Development colleagues, participating in periodic meetings to keep abreast of corporate developments, changes and objectives. Provide technical training of ARC Cyber Team & Cyber UW teams. Communicate and share technical Cyber expertise with various stakeholders. Provide presentations and training sessions for AGCS and client representatives. Contribute to White Papers development and other articles/brochures/studies.


  • Actively assist ARC with respect to ongoing or specific projects supporting AGCS transformation and digitalization.


Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

  • Masters' degree or higher in Cyber Security would be preferred or Masters' degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology and Information Systems, Distributed Computing, Network Structure, Software Developing, and AI. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or Physical Sciences
  • 10+ years of experience in the manufacturing industry or consulting companies being responsible for or advising about system and/or network security of the department/unit/organization
  • Consulting experience in advising international companies about IT security projects in the operational environment would be an asset
  • Expertise in Industrial Network Security of Industrial Control Systems (ICS) - Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and Information Security / IT Security
  • Knowledge of ICT Management Systems, Business Continuity Management – e2e digital value chain – and risk assessment methods and tools
  • Familiarity with cyber security tools/services, penetration testing, programming languages, and risk management.
  • Holding cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISA, CRISC etc.) would be an asset
  • Understanding complex IT infrastructures (hardware components; software - UNIX, Linux, Windows; network communication protocols - TCP/IP, Modbus, OPC, Database structures), various Digital Platforms, Cloud computing, IoT, Blockchain based solutions, AI business application
  • Strong digital and data analytical skills with an understanding of design, deployment, implementation and change management of new IT technology and standards
  • Ability to work well, effectively, with empathy in a team environment, understanding the needs and the dynamic within a Global network
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to express ideas and messages clearly, both written and verbally
  • Experience in presenting complicate technical matters to different level of technical understanding stakeholders, able to articulate propositions to leaders in all levels of management
  • Ability to travel throughout the US, Canada & Globally as required
  • Fluent in English. Working level knowledge of additional languages (French, Spanish, or German) is an asset
