Role Purpose

Responsible for leading the Regional Premium Audit operations.  Responsibilities include management of Premium Audit staff in multiple zones, participation in both regional and zonal initiatives, development and execution of strategies to meet business needs.  Develops and implements overall Premium Audit plans, measurements and standards including compliance with quality and processing standards.   Be available to provide high level presentations etc. where required in any of the regional countries. Provide support to the ARC Regional Manager, Americas in all areas relating to Premium Audit activities and any other areas as agreed.


Key Responsibilities

Develops and cascades regional/zonal performance metrics and Including:

  • Implementing and monitors execution of premium audit strategy.
  • Implements and monitors a quality review program, including the establishment of performance standards.
  • Develops and directs implementation of Premium Audit policies and procedures.


Develops and directs implementation of Premium Audit policies and procedures.  Identifies managed staff training and development needs and provides mentoring, training and coaching as needed.  Sets standards for fee audit services.  Monitors overall performance of fee companies.


Coordinates Premium Audit staff, services and projected costs with internal business partners for budgeting and expense control.  Creates and monitors Premium Audit expense budget.  Facilitates development of premium audit services/products with NA Regional underwriting LOBs.   Monitors & reports on field performance and performance-to-plan.


Conducts regional Premium Audit reviews.  Will also perform individual file reviews, and reviews supervisor/manger reviews performed.   Ensures compliance with state regulations regarding types of audits, statistical reporting requirements and timeliness criteria.  Also ensures compliance with company filing on auditable business.  Understands state specific audit concerns communicates these to underwriting areas and adjusts operations to address these changes.


Provides support and acts as Regional liaison with the Commercial Service Center (Premium Audit Processing) and also provides ongoing support and informational enhancement to the ARC team overall.


Responsible for delivering accurate audited basis of premium in accordance with company filings for policies written on a variable basis of premium to develop premium that is commensurate to loss during the policy period.  This results in net additional premium collected on average exceeding $9 Million.


Required Skills

  • B.S. or B.A. degree in Accounting or Business Administration required. MS or MA degree desired
  • CPCU and/or Associate in Premium Auditing (APA) Designation
  • Familiar with leadership functions associated with Premium Audit department
  • Previous Premium Audit management/supervisory experience desired
  • Accounting Experience in an Insurance Environment
  • Understanding of State Insurance regulations as it relates to Auditing Process
  • Demonstrated ability to manage workflow, supervise staff and manage agency relationships
  • Excellent communication, influence management and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Premium Audit techniques and procedures.  Knowledge of AGCS Premium Audit operations desirable
  • Knowledge of insurance coverages, marketing procedures, underwriting programs and pricing plans
