What’s your mission at Allianz?

I provide financial reporting guidance to operating entities, develop and represent Allianz Group’s position on current legislative developments in financial and non-financial reporting and assess the impact of investments intended by Allianz Group on its financial statements. Furthermore, I create training materials for operating entities to ensure consistent reporting practices within Allianz Group.

What’s your career progression?

During my Bachelor and Master studies I focused on finance and accounting. The PhD helped me to approach complex accounting questions and present results in a structured way. My current job at Allianz is the first role I assumed after my PhD. I am supporting Allianz Group’s Chief Accountant in his role as a member of a task force that advises the European Commission.

What's surprising about your job?

When I started working at Allianz, I did not expect that I would deal with the current political developments in the European Union, such as Sustainable Finance, on a daily basis.

What’s your main career advice? What inspires you?

My own career experience and impression from others within Allianz has made me realize that each role really offers the opportunity to take on tasks and topics that one will enjoy – this helps to make sure that your job is not just a duty!
I feel inspired by people who remain optimistic despite great challenges or unexpected events.
