Work that excites, a town that inspires – Allianz has it all.

Kayleigh Woodford has spent 17 years with Allianz, building a career that’s as diverse as it is fulfilling. Starting out in a customer service role, she’s worked her way up through various departments, gaining skills, and finding new opportunities along the way. As well as the great company culture at Allianz, it’s also the benefits of being based in Bournemouth which has encouraged her to stick around for nearly two decades!

A long-lasting career with Allianz

“My 17 years at Allianz have been full of growth, change, and support,” Kayleigh explains. “I started as a senior customer representative and over time moved into team leadership roles, and even took on a role in training. Each step of the way, I’ve had the chance to learn new skills and discover different parts of the business.”

“What’s kept me committed for so long is the genuine sense of community here. Allianz feels like one big family – people look out for each other, and that makes all the difference. I’ve always felt encouraged to explore new paths, and I’ve never felt stuck. I’ve had the freedom to develop my career, backed by the support of great colleagues every step of the way.”

Memorable moments

“Looking back, there are so many standout moments – but one I’ll never forget is being named Employee of the Year in 2013. That recognition meant a lot. But honestly, it’s the everyday moments that stick with me the most. I love helping train new colleagues and watching them grow. Knowing I’ve played a part in their success is incredibly rewarding.”

“Recognition is a big part of the culture here. Whether it’s through the My Recognition page, where we can shout out great work, or through the Employee of the Month and team awards – there’s always a way to celebrate each other. It really boosts morale and helps us all feel appreciated.”

Plenty of opportunities for development and career growth

“Allianz has always encouraged me to keep learning and developing. Each year, we’re given three days for personal development, and I’ve used that time to shadow different departments and explore where my strengths lie. I also took part in the Excelerate programme, which gave me the confidence and tools to move into my current role.”

“The apprenticeship options are another great resource. They’re a brilliant way for people to figure out what roles suit them best, and Allianz really supports that kind of exploration. There’s a strong focus here on helping people thrive in roles that fit both their skillset and their ambitions.”

Supporting you through life’s challenges

Of course, every career has its ups and downs. “For me,” says Kayleigh, “one challenge has been overcoming nerves when it comes to interviews. But Allianz didn’t just leave me to figure it out alone – they offered webinars and coaching that really helped build my confidence.”

“And when COVID hit, the company’s response was amazing. We were quickly set up to work from home, no one was furloughed, and our wellbeing was clearly a top priority. It was reassuring to feel so supported during such an uncertain time.”

Great flexibility and focus on work-life balance

“One of the things I value most is the flexibility Allianz offers. Life can be unpredictable, and having flexible working hours and shift patterns has made it much easier to balance everything. When I came back to work full-time, I didn’t have to reduce my hours – that kind of adaptability has made a real difference.”

One big family

“What really sets Allianz apart, in my opinion, is how much it cares. It’s more than just a workplace – it’s a community. I’ve felt that care during some really tough times, like when my mother-in-law was ill. My colleagues were so supportive, constantly checking in and offering help. It’s in moments like those that you realise just how special the culture is here.”

“That sense of belonging is what’s kept me here all these years. I’ve always felt that my work matters, and that I matter – not just as an employee, but as a person.”
