Underwriting Director - National Accounts
Lead the expansion of and support for key National Account BD channels through timely underwriting and operational support. Accountable for creating and leading all life underwriting channel performance reporting activities (e.g managing effective marketing dollar utilization, establishing performance measures of national accounts and Allianz underwriters and new business support, and documenting financial and underwriting related business rules across the Life Division (where they may not currently exist). Create and lead life underwriting function of reporting, metrics and analytics through establishing reporting infrastructure and activity tracking system. Serves as primary point for all Life Underwriting and budget for National Account and as liaison with strategic partners on financial, budget, underwriting philosophy and performance and productivity management matters (e.g. Finance, EBIS, Chief Underwriter and IT, CRM systems, other distribution departments). Responsible for all National Account- underwriting compensation programs, including calculation of monthly amounts and communication with HR.
Support and Guide Underwriting Team:~crlf~Lead operations and underwriting team to support National Account financial platform for distinct distribution channels and ensure that all financial goals and objectives are being met within prescribed division, underwriting and budgetary parameters (internal budget, new business margin, case profitability, risk implemented controls, new technologies adoption amongst others.) Serve as the relationship underwriting manager (and contact) for life in all financially and underwriting relevant matters with multiple internal partners (Finance, EBIS, CRM team, Chief Underwriter, and other distribution departments).Responsible to ensure that all key financial and underwriting deliverables and metrics are in place and accurate by prescribed dates. Identifies issues and trends, and recommends solutions to SVP, VP, Chief Underwriter, Corporate Risk, Actuary, and National Sales Director on all financial matters. Responsible for managing underwriting risk and business decisions while building relationships with Life Distribution external and internal wholesalers.~crlf~~crlf~Implement Life Metrics, Productivity Measurements, Forecasting and Analytics for both National Account Channels: ~crlf~Build and maintain reporting capabilities and forecasting tools for measurement of past and prediction of future performance and Life Underwriting KPI's. Ensure data is translated into analytics that influence the business behaviors and drive efficiencies, including optimal utilization of Salesforce and related CRM technologies. Includes collaborating with internal and external wholesalers; measuring performance for underwriters, national account; and analyzing and communicating relevant metrics (e.g. books of business; distribution segmentation; zone, region and territory management; BD, BGA/ FMO reporting; Premium Finance; producer retention;~crlf~~crlf~Work with actuary, life strategy, product development, and other key contributors to strengthen reinsurance relationships, vendor relationships, and develop new products and strategies.~crlf~~crlf~Work with Chief Underwriter and other underwriting managers to build and maintain an appeals committee, quality control team, and support innovation for future underwriting strategies.~crlf~~crlf~
