AIM VP - Head of Backoffice

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer for Allianz Investment Management in the United States, this position is responsible for the enablement of all Hedging, Investment Strategy and Portfolio Management activities. This position will lead the functions responsible for middle and back office accounting and operations support. This position will build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including: Hedging, Investment Strategy, Portfolio Management, Compliance, Corporate Risk Management, Finance and IT.~crlf~~crlf~A key priority for this role is to help the push towards Digitalization by driving key automation projects through RPA, internal IT development or business-owned improvements.

Key Responsibilities~crlf~• Leads the functions responsible for the daily middle & back-office~crlf~• Manages operational and financial controls, including reporting, planning, and security valuation~crlf~• Manages counterparty and vendor relationships~crlf~• Manages client interaction and issue resolution~crlf~• Supports accounting/operations across the value chain~crlf~• Oversees the pre-and post-trade compliance & risk management~crlf~• Ensures operational coordination and integration with clients, global partners and vendors~crlf~• Responsible for Investment data, including interface to IT and key vendors~crlf~• Actively manages, designs, and optimizes operations processes~crlf~~crlf~"Relationship Management~crlf~• Manages counterparty and vendor relationships~crlf~• Manages client interaction and issue resolution~crlf~• Supports accounting/operations across the value chain~crlf~• Closely cooperates with key stakeholders (Hedging department, Investment Strategy department, Investement Accounting as well as the Fund board)~crlf~• Interacts closely with the counterparts in other HUBs within AIM~crlf~• Is the relationship manager for various providers / key vendors~crlf~~crlf~"Project Management~crlf~• Oversees the pre-and post-trade compliance & risk management~crlf~• Ensures operational coordination and integration with clients, global partners and vendors~crlf~• Responsible for remediation of current shortcomings and key actor in the Operational Risk Management Program~crlf~• Actively manages, designs, and optimizes operations processes~crlf~• Acts as a sponsor for various initiatives, including operational excellence and is the business owner for their progress~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~

Bachelor’s degree required in Finance, accounting, business, technology or investment-related degree~crlf~Work Experience required: 11+ years of relevant experience within Investment Operations~crlf~~crlf~- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and manage people~crlf~- Well-developed communication and presentation skills, including senior management~crlf~- Exceptional judgment, critical thinking and problem-solving skills~crlf~- Exceptional drive towards Excellency through strong program/project management expertise~crlf~- Ability to effectively challenge the status quo~crlf~- Strong knowledge of compliance and risk disciplines~crlf~- Strong knowledge of industry best practices for Investments~crlf~- Apply business and financial thinking to drive results~crlf~- Ability to align priorities and actions to strategic goals~crlf~- Provide sound, proactive fact-based advice and drive strategy~crlf~- Build relationships and collaborate well with others~crlf~- Work in a fast paced, results-oriented business environment~crlf~- Experience working in a global environment~crlf~~crlf~Preferred qualifications:~crlf~Advanced degree: MBA, CFA, CPA or equivalent~crlf~Experience in Investment Accounting applications (PAM for Investments, Precision LM)~crlf~~crlf~
