The Regional Head of Risk Management is responsible for leading and coordinating risk management and control activities for the respective region. This includes risk identification, risk assessment, risk monitoring and risk reporting in order to make the risk and control landscape transparent to the organization. It includes, as well, definition and prioritization of actions required to mitigate risks in close collaboration with the business, supporting the business in managing their risks. The role also involves interpretation and implementation of external risk management requirements.

##Develop strategy for own area of responsibility in alignment with functional/regional goals. ~crlf~##Provide employees with guidance on overall strategic picture and how team's targets are aligned to it. ~crlf~##Define clear and challenging targets, monitor progress and address performance issues appropriately and effectively, setting priorities.~crlf~##Drive organizational set up for own area of responsibility including personnel selection and managing budget within plan.~crlf~##Coach and develop employees in a continuously changing environment. ~crlf~##Empower employees to execute tasks independently. ~crlf~##Foster behavior of team members as desired according to AGCS standards (e.g., behavioral goals, etc.) and live up to the matrix organization.~crlf~##Make AGCS region's risks transparent to the local management teams and to global risk management, based on independent risk oversight with a focus on, but not limited to, underwriting practices, new product development, reputation risk and risk accumulation. ~crlf~##Conduct and review business areas of concern, communicating and reporting to senior leadership about risk topics. ~crlf~##Local and regional contact person for managers and staff to communicate risk topics and processes.~crlf~##Contribute to the evolution of the risk and control assessment processes and their implementation in the AGCS region, including, but not limited to ICOFR, Operational Risk Management (including operational incidents reporting), local Top Risk Assessments, and Enterprise-wide Risk-based Integrated Control framework. ~crlf~##Local and regional contact person for managers and staff to communicate and provide guidance on risk and control concepts and processes.~crlf~##Quarterly reporting of the regional and local risk reports.~crlf~##Annual identification of the regional and local top risks.~crlf~##Communication and coordination of risk related issues between the local and the global teams at a management and staff level.~crlf~##Define and prioritize actions required to mitigate AGCS region's risks in close collaboration with the business units and other departments.~crlf~##Interpret and implement external local risk management requirements in an efficient manner. ~crlf~##Maintain relationship with local regulators and external parties in the context of risk management.~crlf~##Support the Global Risk Management team with global responsibilities as needed.~crlf~

##Minimum of 5 years of experience in leading and developing international and/or virtual teams within a complex global matrix environment;~crlf~##Experience in leading change and delivering large scale international projects in various business scenarios, including restructuring and integration;~crlf~##Industry or professionally recognized and up-to-date Risk Management expertise, backed up by hands-on Risk Management experience;~crlf~##Proven experience in communication of results to a variety of stakeholders including senior management;~crlf~##Deep understanding of insurance and state of the art risk management techniques;~crlf~##Product knowledge, including a deep understanding of corporate insurance product portfolio;~crlf~##Robust knowledge of principles and practices of other relevant functional areas (COO, Actuarial, UW, RI, etc.);~crlf~##Robust understanding of regulatory risk frameworks and requirements across AGCS' locations;~crlf~##Ability to make sense of complex issues and respond to complex/ambiguous situations by identifying and initiating appropriate remediation and follow up;~crlf~##Anticipate and resolve issues before these transpire;~crlf~##Effectively evaluate information from multiple sources to identify business issues, involving stakeholders in the decision making process; ~crlf~##Commit to action after weighing alternate solutions against important decision criteria;~crlf~##Ability to understand, elaborate and convey information clearly and effectively in respect to the audience/level of management (both verbally and in writing);~crlf~##Ability to recognize and deal with disputes in a rational, balanced and effective way;~crlf~##Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in mathematics or any other analytical science or quantitative field; and~crlf~##Completion of Actuarial/Financial (e.g., CFA) designation considered an advantage.~crlf~~crlf~
