The CUO Inland Practice Leader is responsible for the underwriting results in defined line of business for the Region (Americas); including:~crlf~##Setting underwriting authority~crlf~##Managing underwriters in a matrix environment, providing underwriting direction and support, as well acting as referral manager for business that exceeds local underwriting authority

##Underwriting Support: ~crlf~•~crlf~Review and underwrite risks within area of expertise that exceed underwriters in the regions underwriting authority~crlf~•~crlf~Serve as a resource to the regions underwriting staff; underwriting large/complex risk referrals for the regions~crlf~•~crlf~Identify, develop and implement underwriting policy, procedural and program changes in accordance with the underwriting strategies and regulatory environment~crlf~•~crlf~Ensure appropriate training programs are implemented and maintained to develop the level of underwriting expertise needed~crlf~##Product Development:~crlf~•~crlf~Gathers information on competitive trends, product line trends, producer trends and external environment, including legal, economic, demographic and distribution trends~crlf~•~crlf~Recommend new and revised products and programs, underwriting standards and procedures, and provide guidance on pricing within the regions~crlf~•~crlf~Monitor product result and develops proposals to maximize profitability, including the review of claims/large losses/trends~crlf~##Product Management:~crlf~•~crlf~Review and analyze overall business issues for assigned line(s) and territory providing as much information as pricing, competitive trends and problem account identification~crlf~~crlf~

##Bachelor Degree: University Degree (i.e. Business Administration / Economics)~crlf~##5+ Years of experience in relevant senior level positions (functional depth / breath)~crlf~##Minimum 5 to 7 years: Significant experience (minimum of c.5 years) in Underwriting management position in relevant line of business~crlf~##Minimum 5 to 7 years: Demonstrable track record of growing portfolio profitably in hard and soft markets~crlf~##Minimum 5 to 7 years: Successful track record of leadership of direct teams and complex matrix environments~crlf~##Minimum 5 to 7 years: Experience of working internationally~crlf~##Minimum 5 to 7 years: Experience of remotely managing and developing teams across numerous locations~crlf~##Knowledge of the insurance industry, intermediary operations, insurance laws and general business operations~crlf~##Comprehensive knowledge of competition and marketing conditions~crlf~##In-depth knowledge of AGCS and competitor marketing, sales, and UW strategies for assigned LoB~crlf~##Technical knowledge of LoB~crlf~##Advanced: Excellent communication and human relation skills to work with intermediary, regulatory agencies, underwriters and underwriting management. ~crlf~##Advanced: Skills to develop and deliver training programs to AGCS staff, agents and clients~crlf~~crlf~
