Senior Manager, Risk Management, Asia Pacific
As a member of the regional Risk team, you will have a dual role consisting of Coverage responsibilities for selected entities reporting to the regional Hub, and Topic Expert responsibilities. ~crlf~~crlf~In your Coverage role, you will be a key business partner for local Risk functions and respective regional functions, ensuring adequate risk-return decisions and the avoidance of excessive risk. You will represent the shareholder in quarterly Risk Committees of the local entities, and you will liaise with the regional management team both inside & outside of regional Risk Committee meetings in order to ensure risks arising from the local businesses are appropriately understood & mitigated at regional level.~crlf~~crlf~In your Topic Expert role, you will act as a centre of competence for your regional colleagues on life products & actuarial, life modelling and ALM topics. You will develop & maintain regional frameworks for measuring & managing these risks, ensuring appropriate alignment/adaptation of respective Group frameworks, and facilitating their local implementation.
Coverage role:~crlf~- You will cover 3-4 selected life and/or P&C entities out of the 7 life and 6 P&C markets reporting to the regional Hub~crlf~- For these selected entities, you will be responsible for liaising with, challenging & supporting the local CROs in order to identify, measure & mitigate risks facing the local business (covering the full scope of risks: market, credit, underwriting, operational, IT, reputational, strategic)~crlf~- You will build a network with other local functions (Investment, Underwriting, Finance.) in order to inform your understanding of the entities' business, and to ensure Risk aspects are considered in local decision-making~crlf~- You will play a formal role in regional approval processes triggered by the local entities you cover (product approvals, investment proposals, M&A.)~crlf~- You will support your entities in managing both regulatory & economic capital~crlf~~crlf~Life/ALM Topic Expert role:~crlf~- You will act as Risk's interface with the regional Life Actuarial & Products teams, challenging them on aspects such as product design, assumptions-setting, and life portfolio management (par fund mgmt., persistency, reinsurance...)~crlf~- You will act as Risk's interface with regional Investment, ensuring that ALM strategies are aligned with risk appetite~crlf~- You will develop & maintain regional frameworks for measuring & managing Life & ALM risks, ensuring appropriate alignment/adaptation of respective Group frameworks, and facilitating their local implementation~crlf~- You will support regional Risk colleagues in opining on life product approvals for their entities; in analysing output from ALM, liability & capital models and formulating appropriate actions ~crlf~~crlf~
- B.S. degree in Finance/Risk/Actuarial ~crlf~- 10 years in Insurance, 5 years in Risk or Actuarial or investment functions ~crlf~- Risk Management (FRM) or Actuarial or CFA ~crlf~- Networking & influencing a broad range of stakeholders at varying levels of hierarchy~crlf~- Communicating & presenting to both expert & non-expert audiences, both in formal (Committee) settings and informally~crlf~- Actuarial, life product design, portfolio Management, ALM, management of regulatory & economic capital ~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~
