  • Job Purpose/ Role

    The principal purposes of this role will be to manage the businesses needs regarding state regulatory filings; work with the underwriting support platforms and tools for forms management; provide direction on how forms should be used; support the development and improvement of underwriting rules; and coordinate with other LoBs that share underwriting platforms or products to assure consistency in the AGCS face to market.

  • Key Responsibilities

    ##Business oversight of State Regulatory Filings process (including form, rate, and underwriting rules) whether due to new product development or in response to ISO filings actions.~crlf~##Development of priorities and strategies with respect to regulatory filings (e.g., managing shared resource – availability, cost to value analysis and alternative approaches).~crlf~##Development of strategy and tactical initiatives to implement available Commercial Deregulation and/or Large Commercial Exempt alternatives to rate and form filing.~crlf~##Execute steering and monitoring of underwriting regulatory and compliance initiatives (internal and external).~crlf~##Form usage guidelines as embedded in IT platforms or available separately.~crlf~##Direct owner with respect to Liability requirements of underwriting support platforms and tools for forms management.~crlf~##Drive the implementation of key Liability system integration and product management initiatives, including acting as key contact for coordination with Operations and IT. ~crlf~##Coordinate Liability initiatives with other LoBs that share common Liability systems platforms or underwriting form and tools.~crlf~##Steer systems-related projects, in particular transitional projects, to fully integrate all existing legacy systems into common Corporate Liability solutions.~crlf~##Coordination with other LoBs that either share underwriting platforms or use the same or similar products to assure as much consistency in the AGCS Face to the Market with respect to Liability as is possible.~crlf~##Participate in, and drive from a regional Liability perspective, key Regional and Global projects.~crlf~##Train staff on new systems, coverages and underwriting positions within Liability North America, as required.~crlf~##Support underwriting quality initiatives.~crlf~##Support team efforts to update and maintain local underwriting rules and guidance to provide the field underwriter the most current, clear and easy to access direction.~crlf~##Contribute with technical pricing support, conducting Liability reviews and supporting Liability Global PCs in the identification of emerging regulatory and compliance growth opportunities or areas of change that require functional or tactical changes in the steering of portfolio.

  • Key Requirements/ Skills

    ##Experience in Underwriting P&C Business and/or Actuarial and/or Reinsurance and/or Finance;~crlf~##Strong knowledge of regulatory filings requirements.~crlf~##Successful track record working in complex matrix environments;~crlf~##Experience of working with highly complex IT systems with excellent ability to adapt to new systems;~crlf~##Strong analytical, numerical and adaptive problem solving skills, using logical and methodological approaches;~crlf~##Experience with design, development and implementation of consistent, robust contract wordings;~crlf~##Analyze current performance against various benchmarks with a view to ensure adequate progress and satisfactory performance;~crlf~##Project management skills;~crlf~##Ability to analyze highly complex data, from multiple sources, in detail; ~crlf~##Identify and resolve issues before they transpire;~crlf~##Ability to express ideas and messages clearly, both written and verbally;~crlf~##Ability to "sell" an improvised or prepared audience winning story;~crlf~##Advanced knowledge in Excel and database applications; and~crlf~##Degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance and/or Actuarial background.
