  • Job Purpose/ Role

    The senior underwriter will manage day to day planning, operation and problem solving of Pricing team in order to meet the required service level standards. He/she will act as a knowledgeable resource and offer creative solutions within a goal oriented environment and will assess risk and price it profitably. ~crlf~ ~crlf~The senior underwriter will also ensure underwriting guidelines and procedures are followed.

  • Key Responsibilities

    The senior underwriter has the ability to provide pricing expertise on medical, life, death and disability risks, and to broaden the knowledge base of pricing structures for customers in worldwide.~crlf~The main responsibilities of the role are to enhance the current systems and procedures to increase productivity of the business, and take in charge a high profiled books of business.~crlf~ ~crlf~The main missions are : ~crlf~ ~crlf~##To prepare and issue new business and renewal quotations on Allianz Care for medical, life, death and disability risks.~crlf~##Update and take the ownership of the renewal and quote database.~crlf~##Assess risk and price profitably on new and existing experience book business.~crlf~##Liaise with sales support team in Paris and customers relationship managers in Dublin in relation to pricing queries and when necessary, deal direct with clients and brokers.~crlf~##Provide impact analysis of benefits in relation to changes in benefits when requested.~crlf~##Ensuring ownership is taken of all the queries received by the team.~crlf~##Proactively identify and propose process improvements within the Pricing Department.~crlf~##Guide and support junior team members, assisting in their formal onboarding and training.~crlf~##Work independently and autonomously on daily tasks within defined frameworks.~crlf~##Solve complex technical problems through business requests.~crlf~##Develop a broader understanding of the TPA partnership functions and monitoring functions of the implications of Pricing work elsewhere in the business.~crlf~##Influences decisions through advice and guidance on pricing matters.

  • Key Requirements/ Skills

    ##Fluent in English~crlf~##Fluent in French~crlf~##Experience 7 years in Underwriting/pricing function~crlf~##Experience within the insurance industry, preferably within International Health Insurance~crlf~##Experience working in a pressurized and goal driven environment~crlf~##Experience working with international medical business groups~crlf~##Mathematics and statistical qualification or similar~crlf~##Strong knowledge of the databases IT tools~crlf~##Advanced Excel skills to include familiarity with pivot tables, advanced formulas, functions etc~crlf~##Strong technical, pricing performance and customer service skills~crlf~##Highly consistent and persistent approach to carrying out duties~crlf~##Team player, commitment and cooperation~crlf~##Strong attention to details and controls~crlf~##Good verbal and written communication skills~crlf~##Excellent organizational skills~crlf~##Effective time management skills
