  • Job Purpose/ Role

    The purpose of this role is to work with the Technical Analyst, Solution Architect and Business Analysts to analyse, design, develop, test and maintain technology solutions that are fit for purpose and aligned with AWP IT Strategy & Architecture.~crlf~~crlf~The Senior Application developer will have solid skill and capability across .NET & Web development technologies. The Senior Application Developer will have business application knowledge, process knowledge and experience across development, production support and enhancement of applications.

  • Key Responsibilities

    - Build strong relationships through engagement with our lines of business (customers), colleagues, project managers and other key stakeholders across all stages of the system development lifecycle.~crlf~- Participate and if relevant organise technical workshops and design meetings.~crlf~- Proactively engage with other developers, technical analyst and solutions architect to identify innovative technology solutions.~crlf~- Proactively engage with peers during the solution investigation process to ensure that practical, achievable and cost effective solutions are being presented to the business.~crlf~- Design or assist in design, develop, test and maintain business applications to meet the needs of business and user requirements throughout the software development life cycle.~crlf~- Maintain, enhance and document existing business solutions in Allianz.~crlf~- Ensure developed software solutions adhere to industry standards and best practices to ensure maintainability.~crlf~- Provide mentoring and coaching to the software development staff.~crlf~- Assist and take active role in the code review process.~crlf~- Ensures project deliverables and implementation meet technical requirements.~crlf~Understanding of effective programming design specifications.~crlf~- Assist in the preparation and documentation of program requirements and specifications.~crlf~- Assist in defining software development project plans, including scoping, scheduling, and implementation.~crlf~- Assist in the selection and installation of third party application software and software components and liaise with external providers on behalf of Allianz Partners.~crlf~- Research problems discovered by testing process or product support and develop solutions.~crlf~- Identify application problems which require additional expertise and take appropriate action, including referring issues to Software Development Manager for escalation.~crlf~- Make suggestions to improve development process and techniques.~crlf~- Follow new developments in application software products, tools and methodologies~crlf~- Carry out other related tasks as directed by Software Development Manager~crlf~- Disciplined approach to planning, implementation and execution of project deliverables.

  • Key Requirements/ Skills

    - Application software solutions meet the expectations of the Business Units~crlf~- Ensures project deliverables and implementation meet technical requirements.~crlf~- Delivery of the high quality software solutions based on recommended and agreed design patterns~crlf~- Implementing QA process in the development cycle~crlf~- University degree in Information Technology or related discipline (Mandatory) or equivalent industry related experience.~crlf~- Must be able to balance and manage various priorities~crlf~- Motivated Self Starter/Learner and initiative~crlf~- Refined problem solving skills.~crlf~- Excellent verbal, oral and written communication skills~crlf~- Aptitude for teamwork with very high levels of information sharing.~crlf~- Demonstrated skills in application development and experience in .NET C# and Web development technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS)~crlf~ Sound understanding of SQL and RDBMS principles with some hands-on experience with Oracle and/or SQL Server.~crlf~ Experience with a source control systems and design patterns~crlf~- Solid exposure and understanding in software development related technologies platforms and industry Insurance.~crlf~- XHighly Skilled in .NET C# development~crlf~- Intensive experience in OO design and development~crlf~- Intensive experience in Javascript, HTML and CSS~crlf~ Knowledge of SQL (TSql and/or PL/SQL)~crlf~- Knowledge of XML and Web Services
