  • Job Purpose/ Role

    The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the Americas Region of Allianz Partners will be based in Richmond, Virginia and will have a global matrix reporting structure . This executive will function as a strategic finance partner to our local CEO and his entire team. As a key member of this executive team, this role will lead a proactive and business-oriented financial organization that drives the financial strategy for the US business and the Americas Region financial function. This role is also a member of the global Travel line of business leadership team, supporting the CEO. ~crlf~Operating in a highly matrixed environment, the CFO will partner effectively with business leaders across the America’s region and globally, as well as the Allianz Partners headquarters team to establish strategy and implement plans for profitable business growth. The CFO will have direct financial responsibility for businesses in the US, Canada, Brazil, and Mexico. The successful candidate will bring both strong business and financial acumen.

  • Key Responsibilities

    ##Direct and oversee all financial activities of the America's Region including annual budget preparation and management, financial planning & analysis, financial reporting, forecasting, business intelligence, reserving, capital management, risk, and regulatory compliance. ~crlf~##Partner with the Executive Leadership team and Business Unit CFOs to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies that will set the strategic direction of the Americas Region and the global Travel line of business.~crlf~##Responsible for formulating financial policies and plans. Direct activities associated with the security and investment of the Americas Region’s assets and funds, and ensure that financial transactions, policies, and procedures meet the organization's short- and long-term objectives, and regulatory body requirements.~crlf~##Play a lead role in executive review and analysis in all areas of Americas Region’s and global Travel line of business financial performance with a strong understanding of the business drivers and metrics for growth and success.~crlf~##Evaluate acquisitions, investments, capital expenditures and divestitures to ensure they are financially viable and are aligned with the Company’s business objectives. ~crlf~##Oversee the preparation of the Company’s financial reports to ensure that internal and external reporting is accurate, timely, and conducted in accordance with all regulatory reporting and audit requirements for US GAAP, IFRS and NAIC Statutory Accounting Principles. ~crlf~##Ensure all levels of management are focused on the financial drivers of the business by establishing key performance indicators and developing measureable and actionable plans. ~crlf~##Serve as an advisor from the financial perspective on any contracts into which the company may enter. Manage the controllership of financial accounting and treasury functions for the company.~crlf~##As CFO of the US Business Unit, serve as a Board member, treasurer and member of the Investment Committee for Jefferson Insurance Company. ~crlf~##Partnering with headquarters and business unit leaders, drive improved profitability, process improvements, and capital efficiency initiatives throughout the global organization.~crlf~##Ensure that the Company is maintaining a robust risk management and compliance framework that is identifying, assessing, monitoring and reporting risks that may impact its ability to achieve its business objectives. ~crlf~##Serve as a mentor by providing coaching, career development, and inter-departmental relationship management for the team to create a high-performance culture.

  • Key Requirements/ Skills

    ##10+ years of experience in roles of increasing responsibility in strategic finance, ideally within a well-regarded insurance company.~crlf~##Success working collaboratively across a global organization using strong interpersonal and influencing skills and judgment representing the finance and control functions at senior levels. ~crlf~##Strong strategic and business orientation.~crlf~##Solid background in financial planning and analysis, budgeting and forecasting in a large and complex company.~crlf~##Experience managing and building high performance teams. ~crlf~##Track record of working effectively in a highly matrixed global organization with multiple locations.~crlf~##Sensitivity to working with a global company and different cultures. ~crlf~##Undergraduate degree required; CPA and M.B.A. or other graduate degree preferred.

    Travel Requirements: This CFO will be expected to travel 25% of the time/approximately once per month.
